I wanna eat pie now 😋 British butchers generally make the best pies in the land 🇬🇧

My husband and I watch all your videos and love them, it’s even got Colin interested in cooking - he does Sunday dinner every week now! He’s a meat eater and I’ve been vegetarian for over 40 years but you make both of us smile. You’re “spot on” !

Best advice I ever received was from a bloke from Haydock. He said always carry a spoon in your coat pocket in case you get a sloppy pie, you don't want half of it ending up on the floor. I've lived by those words all of my adult life. When I leave home I always check I have everything before I lock the front door - keys, wallet, phone, spoon.

I couldn't eat 2 pies like that without needing a long walk and a lie down! Both my wife and I love your enthusiasm. Thanks.

Another great video mate. After living IN Spain for 13 years and never going back to the UK, the Pies are the thing I miss the most above all other foods. You cannot for the life of you, get a decent pie in Spain. Empanidia just don't get there. So good to see you promoting local and family run businesses. We need a lot more of this 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Now that's what I call a pie! made my mouth water just watching you eat it, what I would really like to find is a shop that still does hand raised pork pies, we used to have a shop nearby who cooked all thier own hams and roast beef etc, and also made thier own pork pies, but unfortunately it closed down, due to the lease holders putting the lease up so high that they couldn't make any money, I was heartbroken, I wish there was more shops like that one you got the pies from, take care xxx

I get in there once a year, superb quality grub, I stay in Arnside, take the train over and stuff myself silly ! I also visit a shop that sells almost every spice, jam, mayonnaise, pickle you can imagine, its heading NW

Sometimes they do a steak & Stilton pie and this is to die for. The actual number one butcher in the country as voted for by the Countryside Alliance is Roast Mutton in Kendal. Also I think it’s Dales Butchers in Kirby Lonsdale got an award for best sausage in the UK, think it’s pork / caramelised onion, also look out for this if u r ever near the area.

Cumbria does have some great food. I visit Keswick as often as I can, but definitely going to try to venture elsewhere next time I'm there..for pie shopping 😂.

I didn’t think you’d be disappointed, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I’d go as far as saying that Higginsons are the best pies in Cumbria in my opinion. If you’re ever in the Halifax/Huddersfield area you must try Bolster Moor farm shop and also Hinchliffes Farm shop they both have pies that are on a par with Higginsons.

Great vid thanks, looks amazing. Another recommendation if you are around that area of Cumbria is Gosforth Bakery. Opens very early, Closes at 2pm, mostly sold out by Noon! The BEST Sausage Rolls I have ever tasted.

Sticky toffee pudding is know as sticky date pudding here in oz. And when it's done right it's amazing. That's butcher's looks all class. Wish I was there...mind you £250-300k for a nice house I might consider it!

My favourite pie shop always call if I'm in the area or have been known to make a 100 mile round trip on the bike just for there pies but can't believe nobody said try the pork pies they are by far the best I've ever tasted, love the vlogs 👍

Kudos to these lads here. Used to both deliver here (and later on did their bin collection) and always received some of their superb pies free of charge. Top people here. Most people in the Lakes don't have the time of day for you, but these guys were top drawer. Meat & potato and curry pies were A1. ☆☆☆☆☆

My gran ( a rubbish cook) had one speciality that was the best I've ever had - meat & potato pie with a thick shortcrust pastry to soak up the gravy. She passed on the recipe to me & I now make it for family, friends and as a special thank you to builders etc who do a good job for me. Only ever had one nearly as good and that was in a B&B in Marsden, West Yorks where the owner took all 15 of us staying with her to the local after dinner where she led lead line dancing (her husband played the drums for the band). At 2am I was begging the landlord to let me out of the lock in so I could go to bed. Fond memories

It’s always nice to buy a real butchers handmade pies. especially when it’s not so pricey compared to what everybody buys in supermarkets. So there is a difference between that. 👍

Seventy years ago my parents had a bakery and made the most fantastic meat and potato pies. I've never found the like since, but that may be the one. Mmm. I could be in Grange in a couple of hours!

We used to have a caravan at Kirkby Lonsdale on a seasonal pitch and Grange was a place we used to visit, we used to go to Cartmel for the sticky toffee puddings as well! anyway we were told about Higginson's butchers for the lamb, the local saltmarsh lamb is sold in this butchers and comes highly recommended, anyway we were over in Grange and called in to buy some lamb and the customer in front of us bought the lot, so we never got to try some, haven't been back to Grange since! maybe you could try some and tell us of the results!
