And the fact has this song was written only in few hours and recording together with his musicians in one take the same day. It's a one take song.Crazy how talented he was.

To me George Michael was a true legend!!! That voice and his writing abilities. I loved him … he had so many beautiful songs and many hits! You really should listen to more of his music you won’t be disappointed.! So sad that he isn’t with us anymore.. what a loss. So glad we still have has his beautiful music! Elton John often said that he has never been jealous of anybody else’s song except for this one. This is the one he wished he would’ve written and sung. George of course kept all of his songs for himself.

In the new book about the ''Faith'' era (written by Matthew Horton), many work in this album talk about this song. George work from a another song in this album when in clapping hands, he starting to write a another song (who he begin ''One More Try''). He write the lyrics in only in hour and it's was recording (instrumental and voice) in one take, he wanted to keep this song very minimalist and simple. 8 hours later, the song totally finished and mixing. This was the emotional side of him in the album.

Hey there. George Michael was such a talent, as I’m sure other commentators have said , he composed and wrote all his music. Physically he was beautiful, but wasn’t able to fully identify himself because of the stigma that was attached to being any other orientation than heterosexual. I believe that’s where his deeply convicted emotive vocals came from. He was adored by millions and millions of women, and was encouraged to appease that persona, but it wasn’t who he was. Thank you for you’re reaction. Thank you for calling it straight up soul , instead of quantifying it with a pre label . I usually watch ur Madonna reactions and they’re great. She’s great, but I would encourage you to delve deeper into George’s catalog. Kissing a fool is a beautiful jazz song that I think u will enjoy. He wrote it, composed it and recorded it at the tender age of 23. God bless you!

Even better is the gospel version of this song that appears on the single that was released back in the eighties. That version brings me to tears. He does also also perform that version live at the Concert for Hope. You can check it out on KZfaq. It's pretty amazing. He had the best backing singers that I've ever heard.

Best version of this song was done at Princess Diana’s concert of hope. George did it in gospel version. His back up singers were tremendous when he did Killer/Papa was a Rolling Stone , I couldn’t believe it.

Its really sad how the most talented people have the hardest or roughest life stories! In this song George was letting us know he was struggling with his sexuality. But most paid no attention to the real meaning of the lyrics. He was so Good looking that men and Women were attracted to him. And that's a difficult place to be when you can't help how you're born especially when you're unusually attractive. That's my guess.
