I always respected EAE's work, but I never clicked with one of their designs until this one. And man does it click! This may be the best FET-based preamp pedal I ever heard.

Awesome, I've been on a massive preamp pedal odyssey the last few years and it's nice to see the versatility of the two outputs. So far the Model FeT and the Friedman BE-OD deluxe are my favs, the Kuro T120 is also AAA+ quality.

It is amazing what can be done with FET. I'm a tube faithful player and always will be, but FET done right is just as fun. I started down that road with the SurfyBear Reverb years ago. A couple Fairfield Circuitry pedals and the Model FET pedal sit on my board too. I think this one will be the next FET-based circuit to encroach on my tube territory.

I really need to scale down my rig for this. If I can run it through a fryette ps100 and get the sound without much else, it might be a solution. Gotta try a couple things first. Run it through 75s or g12k100s? What do y'all think on speakers?

In the Mix section was Mother to Direct out to the return of the GT1. Then used the Captor X with some IRS . Pedal Portion same thing except we used a Sunn 2x12 (SM57 and one other mic I can’t remember right now ) . 2x12 had a V30 and Texas Heat .

Stacks well with pedals just like the amp . At some points of recording this demos I could have sworn I had the amp in the room . Thank you i was hoping that intro track would get the point across on how solid this is .

How are you supposed to use a preamp? Do you use it the same as a distortion/fuzz pedal? Should you do any distorting after it with pedals or amp distortion?

Usually you run other dirt pedals into a preamp. Preamps in themselves behave like amps and are great for setting your foundation tone. So putting them near the end of your drives and before your time based pedals. Or as their own beast into an fx return or directly into a power amp. But, experimentation can pay off too.

I ran this through the return of the GT1 . I feel you get the best result doing that way . But you’re more than welcome to run it anyway you would like .
