Excellent video, love my Stinger as well. Agree with everything you said 100%, especially about the dealer experience. Hyundai at least has the Genesis brand and dealers to answer questions but if you buy a Stinger, your post-purchase experience is bound to be dogshit. Here in Vancouver they don't even bother answering phones at the dealerships. Also I'd add that the gear shifter is god awful and leaves you in Neutral when you're trying to go from D to R quickly. Yours sounds great, I have a Borla exhaust in the mail, hopefully I like it!

Dealership said it is an issue but no real fix to it?!? So I thought maybe it’s a one-off! The 2023 started doing the same thing after only 1 thousand kms ffs. So I traded it in at 4.5k kms and that’s the end of my relationship with Genesis. On to something more reliable unfortunately! Hey dude, great video i subbed. I’ve been looking at this car for the past year and I really want it as my next vehicle. What was your previous vehicle? I’m riding in a 10th gen civic with a 2.0L and it has about 175 hp, it’s not fast what so ever but I have fun in it sometimes. Is the power in the stinger enough to continually have fun in? I know going from 175hp to 365hp is more than double but I want to make sure it’s enough to not disappoint. I wouldn’t keep it stock, I see FBO stingers doing 0-60 in 3.5 and 1/4 mile in the 11s range which is pretty nuts. The used stinger market in Canada right now is crazy IMO, you can find stingers with 35,000 km (22k miles) for around $35k ($29k USD) I also just want to know your opinion on going with used is.
@JulianWithAnX3 жыл бұрын
I think stock this car is perfect for having fun and not getting arrested lol. With a tune i catch myself doing 120 almost by accident sometimes. Thats only on map 2 on jb4 and there room for some power still. I came from a 2014 accord 4 cylinder so the power jump was pretty great. I remember flooring it the first time at the dealership and getting that feeling in my stomach. As for used these cars are a great value used. Not sure what the warranty is like in Canada but in the states a used cpo stinger still gets u the 10 year warranty. Used definitely is a good value. I personally went with new bc of the $9000 lease cash on top of a $2000 msrp drop. One thing to note is that you will notice the weight lol. I remember realizing how light my old accord felt. Overall though I think youll enjoy the power bump lol. Let me know if you have any other questions!

If you never brake hard in the stinger you'll probably never have the pad issue. I'm at 34k miles and I usually let the engine do the braking for me. I take off fast in the car but I always let the car slow down on it's own and then use the brakes a little at the end to stop. I'm doing mostly small town driving though. In sport mode you can almost do 1 pedal driving since the trans is always in a lower gear and shifts down faster. That said, I just bought some slotted and drilled rotors and some stoptech pads for all 4 corners. I have never had the brake issue but it appears that almost everyone with a stinger does. If you take the car to a road course you need to swap the pads and fluid at a minimum or you'll end up having a bad day.

Hate to say this, but we're never going to be able to have the car remember the settings you mentioned, due to the claimed fuel economy and safety concerns. For example, the reason why you have to manually disable the auto start/stop feature every time you start the car is that with it enabled, Kia can claim certain fuel economy numbers; if you could "permanently" have the auto/start stop feature turned off, Kia would no longer be able to make the claimed fuel economy they currently do. That's why I'm sure you also probably noticed that the car will not stay in Smart, Custom, or Sport drive modes after you turn the car off, but will remember if you were in Eco or Comfort drive modes after you turn the car off -- again, that is due to the claims they make about fuel economy. Other settings you mentioned that don't save I'm sure are because of safety concerns. I own a GT2 as well, and I know it's annoying, but it's something we all will just have to deal with unfortunately.

G70 is nice, but not as roomy and feels more crammed than the Stinger, the back seats of the G70 are definitely smaller and not as good for adults in the back, and the Stinger's hatch makes it much more of a practical car. If they were on there from the beginning i doubt they can deny any repairs even if its due to the jb4. The only problem might be proving that it came with the car. The less than $1000 part is not including labor (intakes, spark plugs, and exhaust can be done by yourself if you have the time and space, i had mine professionally installed so it’s definitely more than $1000). I did dyno the car recently and didnt quite make the 100. I think my issue was heatsoak and my best guess as too how much im currently making is probably 60-70 more whp. Think i had a bad batch of gas or my spark plugs were wearing down because my timing was off. My recommendation is get the hks plugs, any cold air intake and a better exhaust and you should make 100 more hp.

👍 Great review bro; If I walk into a dealer (NY) next couple of weeks ready to buy a 2022 Stinger GT2 AWD completely loaded & I make full payment up front, how much should it roughly cost me out the door? Also, do you, or do you know anyone who knows these cars inside & out who acts as a consultant to negotiate best deal for me? Thanks, I appreciate you .... P.S. - Although subjective, I'm curious to hear your take on best colors for this car... The dark green for 2022 looks great online but I'm not so sure about a green car; I generally like dark metallic grey in cars but I've seen black & dark grey stingers & they didn't look great to me in those colors. I think I like the ceramic grey & white the best... Also, interiors... The red seems great for white or ceramic grey but black should hold up better visually as it wears I would think... Any opinion?

I've test driven several of these now and like the car quite a bit. I do have several concerns, enough to dissuade me from buying it entirely. 1) Past kia experience - had a 2011 optima sux. Had massive issues with the car tracking straight. In the shop over a dozen times for alignments, tires, toe bolts and other. In the end I took the loss and unloaded it. What a turd that car was/is. 2) Kia dealer experience - Maybe someone can point me to a competent dealer service shop in the chicago area. 3) DIY. - This car is not very friendly in that regard. No designated front/rear jacking points. Even a cheap honda civic has this. I do most/all of my own maintenance. Getting the car safely onto jack stands should not be rocket science. 4) Plastic components for oil changes?!@# How long is that filter cap and housing going to last over the life of the car. How easy is it to replace the housing? Why is it plastic? 5) And this is the real deal breaker. No RWD models in the midwest area. I need to travel some states south to get one or special order.

Any creaks and rattles in the cabin? I fear this car suffers from cheap assembly.
@JulianWithAnX3 жыл бұрын
The biggest annoyance is the arm rest. They used really thin leather and You can hear rattles when opening it or putting pressure on it. Cant recall any other rattles from the top of my head. There is a rear hatch rattle that happens to some cars but i haven’t experienced it yet after 11k miles and the fix is adding a couple of washers. Theres some rattles with the dash cam wires i have wired through the b pillars but thats not a kia fault.
@flybriur3 жыл бұрын
It can vary from Stinger to Stinger. I wouldn't say it's "cheap" assembly, but you're not getting the same quality control like Lexus, for example. I had some mild rattling from the hatch, which was easily fixed. Also some popping noise from the front headliner area (that would get worse the warmer it was outside) -- ended up being the adhesive making the noise because the adhesive on the headliner wasn't fully adhered on some parts of the headliner to the body. Thank god it was finally diagnosed and fixed by one dealership's service department. Unfortunately I do still have an issue with rattling coming from the large sunroof when it's closed (check the forums, as other people have had a similar issue), which I have had since I purchased the care new. Two dealerships were able to get the noise stopped or reduced, but only for a few weeks and then it came back both times. Currently have an ongoing case with Kia's Consumer Assistance Center. It's not like crazy loud or anything, but still can be a bit annoying. I wouldn't say I have any "creaks" in the cabin though. Overall though the car is an absolute blast to drive.

At first the dealership I bought it from said there was probably some buildup on it, and it would wear off as I drove. It didn't, and so the rotors had to get turned immediately after purchasing. No joke. They seem alright so far, at almost 6k miles. What was also a pain in the ass was that the dealership that I took it to to get the rotors turned didn't jack up the car in the right place on one side, and ruined the side skirt, causing them to have to buy a whole new one and paint and install it.
