excellent topic, took me years to understand myself the same as an adult who started late and had coaches who didn't focus on that

I am getting the idea of keeping the head down during and after contact, then watching the opponent, and then watching the ball. That is helpful. However, I am missing what to do around the time the ball bounces in front of me. I'm lost about how to get variable visual focus. In short, it's a great video, I'm getting a lot out of it, but I believe I need at least one more video to get from where I am now to watching the ball like a pro. Thanks for this video--and all your other great videos.

It makes a huge difference if I keep my chin to shoulder on all shots and I’m trying to establish it as a habit. I miss less balls and can hit it harder when I do it. I haven’t tried it serving, but check out how Sofia Kenin keeps her head still while serving.

Keep you head down and look through the contact point. Simple, vital coaching, rarely taught.

really love your videos and i dont even play tennis--yet...i believe what u said about "losing the ball" then finding it again is so important..tennis is a reactionary sport--like table tennis..the split-second timing in hitting can only be done by not paying too much attention on your opponent--otherwise the ball will go flying by you..

Thanks for interesting video. Sorry, I’m confused, are we aiming for fixed visual focus or variable visual focused?

I'm really sorry. Many players have asked the same question. So I clearly did not make this point, easy to follow. Try as hard as you can to watch the ball in variable visual focus! VVF results in a much clearer view of the ball and makes everything seem to slow down. I hope that this makes sense? It's great that you are enjoying oneminutetennis. Please let me know if there are any other tennis related issues that I can with?

So we should use fixed visual focus instead of variable visual focus and not track the ball?

Sorry. I should have made the video clearer. I'm always trying to keep them short.... To reproduce the clear and precise focus that occurs when you keep your head down, you use variable visual focus. But to achieve this. It is necessary to bring your head down at contact. Almost counterintuitive. By looking down into the contract point, you achieve variable visual focus... I think I need to make another video to clarify this
