Great video, I've been watching videos for days, waiting for my replacement programming cable to come in, and you're the first I've found that actually explained how to choose which talkgroup you want to talk on. Everyone either shows how to program manually, or with the software, but nobody says how to USE a talkgroup once it's programmed. Thanks again!

Thanks for the great comment I also did a video a small while back using the any tone. That would be of interest to you

You said you would be happy if you helped at least one person, well then be happy, Chris! It looks like from the comments, you have helped more than one person and you certainly have helped me! I have the 878 but I have an OpenSpot2 and your video was very helpful. I was able to figure out the differences to make it work, but would have been completely lost without you! Thanks! You have a new subscriber!

Well that's just wonderful I like messages like this.have a look back on the channel there are tons and tons of videos on this radio. 878 does not need to be complicated to work with open spot. You can just have it on a simplex frequency in digital you just won't hear the announcements.thx

Very helpful Chris.. I've been away from the hobby for the best part of 30 years.. You can imagine the shock of discovering the new communications landscape on my return a few weeks ago. As I have limited space for long antennas, this seems like a very sound option to get me up and running again... Many thanks. 73-- G4RYO

Thanks for this video. I think I just got my 878 working with the Open Spot 3. I had to create and add talk group 9. I kept getting a Linker error. However,my menu in the radio is a bit different than yours. I found a command in the list that effectively added the TG9 to my modem Tx/Rx freq. in the VFO. They must have made some changes and updates since you filmed this. Whew, that was tough. I've been at this most of yesterday and about an hour so far today.

Hi Eric yes it takes a bit of doing. You could always programme it up in the computer software. Or you can do it from the radio Direct. Thanks for watching. If you get really stuck give me a shout

It's best to set it up properly so you hear announcements. And when you set it up properly you can use all the cross mode capabilities. Thanks for watching

Thank you for your very informative videos. Trying to learn as much as possible , I am waiting for an OpenSpot. Just some questions to clear up some stuff I am not sure I understand. I noticed that you refer to your computer to make sure you are connected.... is there a way to know you are connected to a TG with just the info. on the Anytone ? When you set up the OS3 do you pick your own simplex frequency or does the OS3 have a designated frequency ? Should you disconnect via 4000 every time to go to another TG ? I see you were connected to 2 TG's ., did not know you could be connected to 2 TG's Thanks again Chris for the way you make your videos, good visuals, clear and slow talking and very informative.

How did you change the colour of your dashboard? Is this an option on the OpenSpot or it comes from the PC?

Thanks for the great video. I am very new to openspot 3 and followed your instructions for my 868. all thought to be working well but when I use the 868 to change to TG 91 and key it only works once. The openspot shows it back to local 9 it will not stay on 91. Am I doing something wrong Thanks Charlie N7CAC

In optional settings in the computer software. Under digital functions. The top 2 settings refer to how long it will keep the hold of the talk group. Just set them both to maximum that will work.

Hi, at 7:08, you press the P2 button to get to memory. My P2 button has 'Main Channel Switch' set for Short Key and 'Sub Ch Switch' for Long Key. Any idea what the setting I need to look for is in the desktop app is? Thanks.

HOW TO SETUP OPENSPOT 3 ON TGIF NETWORKWITH ANYTONE RADIO
@n1kkri3 жыл бұрын
I have a friend who has one of these. He plans to use it on DMR both Branmiester and DMARC. I have been searching for a real simple setup. I will be helping him with this and most of the features right now he has no interest in. Just wants to connect to his iPhone then connect the OpenSpot3 to a DMR server and talk. Can anyone point me to a simple video without getting into any other features. Thanks
