This 3rd dev diary video for Operation Flashpoint: Red River includes gameplay footage taken from the multiplayer modes in the game and features key members of the dev team explaining how Operation Flashpoint: Red River has been completely designed around drop-in, drop-out co-operative play. Players come together in four key specialist roles to form a US Marine Fireteam -- Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman, Scout and Grenadier. These complimentary roles allow players to become a highly effective fighting unit as they play through the game's extensive campaign or rise up the leaderboards in the game's four standalone Fireteam Engagement modes.
Operation Flashpoint: Red River is released in the UK, Europe & Asia on the 21st April, and ships in North America on the 7th June.
ESRB Rating - M for Mature

@poinice Yes it comes out 21st April for EU/UK and Australia and June 7th for the US.

@11122X Yes, I know bu that does not account for a six week delay, if that is the case they have a serious distribution problem. I suspect it has to do with server issues (to not have them overworked at launch) and other games launching in April , like Portal 2 and Socom 4. I am just annoyed to have to wait that's all, and I was curious as to if there was a more prominent issue.

@flashpointredriver finally a game that fills my needs,I'm sick of these fps games that require pretty much no tactics or team play but now finally a game that to me shall be epic.A game that you play in the way you want and you do missions the way you want.I would have bought it for that because that's what I want in a game,but the only other thing better i would want in a game is co-op.Full drop in drop out campaign you do in the way you want with a friend is genius. Thank you Red River Devs!

@vermanshane It is because Codemasters are British video game developers, based in the United Kingdom and every Codemasters game comes out in the UK and Europe before the US.

@KIRKAD12 It's not open world, although the mission areas are sandbox and are far in excess of what you typically see in an FPS.

It's a really good game, I bought it today and have been on it for a while. Mostly online on the FTE and its really good. It isn't just run and gun like people are saying. Yes you can get closer to the action, one mission i walking into a building and didnt people were in there and there were 3 enemies but thats about as close as you get. Sometimes you will run up to a possition and then hear them on the other side but you dont even know they are there at first and then you flank them. Its great

@keveydaking 4 Online co-op modes: Last Stand where you face increasingly difficult waves of enemies and decide when to bank your score by calling in a helicopter to extract your team., Combat Sweep sees you clearing compounds of insurgents and searching out weapons caches, Rolling Thunder you have to escort a convoy and protect it from randomly placed insurgents and Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) where you have to extract fellow marines from a downed helicopter

Thank you for REALLY focusing on co-op. I haven't played a decent co-op game since Rainbow Six 3 and GRAW2 (with player-created maps with over 1,500 enemies..). The last Operation Flashpoint game was fun, but still a bit clunky. Red River looks like a great step forward. Just don't nerf the PC version when you trim things down to fit on the consoles. I own an M17x Alienware laptop for a reason.

Ive noticed a problem, On co-op you are forced to play as one of the pre set charcters, so won't that mean you will have o use their class, ie Balleto and the heavy support, when you might want t play as he scout. That also unfortunately rules out character customization I':

@vermanshane It has always been like that for Codemaster releases, US gets games before the EU 99% of the time and with Codemasters its your turn to wait, to be fair though waiting till June is quite a long time and normally the EU gets games the same week but a few days later

@flashpointredriver Hey, my buddies and I are all big fans Operation Flashpoint. We're read that you guys work with the producers of Generation Kill, since you've already taken homages to the series, we were wondering if you could make a DLC that change the Marines' skins from all MARPAT to the Woodland MOPP Gear from the series, along with the Tri-Color DCU MARPAT mixture seen in the later episodes and PLA "Republican Guard" skins. We love both GK and OFP and would happily pay any price for it

@RedRiverChannel SDK was in Red River? Wait what? 4 Player coop is different from over 100 players, But perhaps there's a market out there that doesn't want to play in large PvP battles, and would rather have a smaller COOP experience. And thats who the audience is for Red River. They're there for support, In RR, You're not meant to drive them. just because YOU don't like it, doesn't mean other people wont prefer an infantry-only experience.

@chpdm First off I haven't found a single bug as of yet and as for the AI they aren't half as bad as they were in Dragon Rising. The whole realistic thing in the game has been toned down and I was dissapointed with that but it is still a fun tactical shooter. I think you just have to play it to see if you like it. I cant change people's opinions on it but I can put mine forward and to be honest its the most realistic shooter out there in my opinion. Now we just need to wait for BF3.

@SethMcFartlane Foolish? Perhaps. But when I was weighing the options between building my own desktop PC for half the price, but with no mobility, and having a full warranty + accident coverage + all of the features built-in for me. I went the lazy route. I make enough money at this point that I can afford a toy here and there. Gadgets and Motorcycles are what I stupidly piss my money away on.

@RedRiverChannel .. They never 'removed' SDK as it was never there. Multiplayer is still there, just in a form of COOP. And Tanks, APC's and Aircraft are still there, you just don't fly them. You didn't in DR either, so it's not being removed, at all. Stick to aim was in DR, too. So that wasn't "added". At least, try, to get some facts right first ...

But have they fixed their fucking shit net code? Random disconnects and crashes ahoy. Also shite server browser and crap peer to peer. I love the fact they bang on about jump in progress especially as you couldn't fucking do it in the previous game.

@RedRiverChannel That is the thing that pisses me off about them, instead of fixing the problems they just cover it up. When problems show up in this game they cover it up by spending more money in marketing instead of fixing them, like the broken AI. But the problem is that most people can't see these things, they become blinded by the power of marketing. Iook at this channel and look at the channel comments, fanboys gallore! look at ruari76's comment, it must be a marketing thing..I hope..

ArmA II and Operation Flashpoint Red River are still on top. But wait.....just wait till ArmA III comes out and every shooter will die. Screw the upcoming overrated games coming. It's all about the tactical shooters and war simulators.

To bad the ai is as smart as headless chickens and that the hole game is built to cash is on the Operation Flashpoint name, geard towards the main stream run and gun players, not a bad thing but the game do it wrong. The original game is 10 times more tactical (Operation Flashpoint Cold war crisis), and the fact that the main stream audiense want fast compeditive multiplayer makes this game fail to appeal to ether the fans or the players from other popular fps games with fast pased multiplayer

CODEMASTER, why you removed the palyer vs player...are you LAZY...or ...are you SCARED TO FAIL...let me tell you... you lost a lot of cstomers doing this...if you dont have enuogh BALLS to do your job, just "QUIT"...and let to another people do the correct job with this proyect.... this days a FPS wihtout Player vs Player...like eat a hamburguer with no meat...my english is really bad, cuz i dont speak this language...but i have te balls to write this cuz you "PISSED ME OFF".
