I have a question in 2023 you can still play it on playstation 3 right? Because it won't let me do it on 3 and 4

@@josiahlee7999 I play it only on PC. The only console I have is my precious SNES🤩 that I played as a teen (and still works and looks like new). However, I've read in comments that Red River doesn't work on PS consoles anymore. Not sure if it's true. On PCs it works only if you: 1 have windows 10 (doesn't work on Win 11) 2 have a steam version of the game with region-free key ( I use it) 3 switch your location Steam to any place in the USA

Mission 5 is Masterpiece, is also the longest in the entire game, it is also skillfully played on the contrast of feelings: previous missions we only attacked and smashed everything around, and now we have to retreat incurring losses. I also have not experienced such emotions in any shooter, where fear is replaced by shock and bitterness of loss, the whole mission you will be haunted by a not illusory feeling of persecution by the PLA troops

If you served in the military everybody knows a Daniel Taylor: he's that guy in the corner the one is always quiet and polite but he's a guy who's got his memories and his baggage but he doesn't let it weigh him down.

I guess it's up to EA now. They have purchased the Codemasters. It would be a hell of a come-back if they used EA's resources to bring back Red River or a remastered Dragon Rising with a new campaign. Better editior. I mean dragon Rising still looks great even now. If they perfected it just a bit added a new campaign now, it would take even on ARMA 3. IMHO

Don't they usually tell 'crossing in front of you' ? It's nice that I'm not the only person still playing Red River. Great game, I have even been collecting memorabilia from it...

@@etnogamer7073 It usually happens when I use the basic "Hold Position" order. The AI likes to reposition at will; useful when assaulting positions, not so useful when defending them. Often, the first indication I get that an AI is walking in front of me is my rounds knocking them out. Then I get called an asshole by Soto. I quickly learned to use the "Move" command to separately place each individual AI where I wanted them. Better yet, I've learned to abuse the "Follow Target" order to make Battle Buddy teams; usually me and Taylor function as a maneuver element (I'm Rifleman 1, Taylor's my grenadier) while Soto and Balletto act as the support element (Rifleman 2/medic and Automatic Rifleman). The AI is just so brain-dead that all I trust them to do is follow me blindly or sit in place and take potshots, so basically how I solve every tactical problem boils down to; "Balletto, blast my target! Taylor, follow me! Soto, like glue on that Balletto!"

@@PhoenixT70 Very professional. I hardly ever use the AI because I like to claim as many kills as I can by myself. Mostly, I use them either as a bait or put them on a high ground to cover my advance or for ambush while I take a different flank. By the way did you know there is a legit Chinese version of Red River? It's made in the USA. I got the unboxing of it on my Channel.

@@etnogamer7073 For real? I'm gonna bet it's censored all to hell and gone, given the basic premise of the game is fighting the PLA. The AI can be useful when intelligently employed and then allowed to sort of exist. They have come in handy where I wouldn't expect, though. Story time! My Taylor has the Benelli twelve-gauge in addition to his M4 because he's my primary breacher. In Mission 4, if memory serves, you get to drop a JDAM on a Taji ville. So the JDAM blows the place to hell and I post Soto and Balletto on the high ground to cover my ass and walk in with Taylor. I never really expected much from him, but why not? So I round the corner of a building, scan my sectors and this Taji jumps out of nowhere from inside a building. I don't have time to react, but Taylor absolutely vibe checks him with a load of 12 gauge buckshot. I always kept to the doctrine of Battle Buddies, but now I do it because there's real in-game value rather than just the role-play.

I hear that. The game still looks great. I've recently begun playing it again after all these years. I don't think we'll see a remake of Red River or Dragon Rising which would be great though.

Its possible to play this game online on PC? If its possible i want to play with you guys :]
