I’ve never had a vacuum with a blower function. The manual didn’t explain the blower function. I was confused about it. Thank you so much for explaining this on you video!

Nice vacuum! I wanted an Oreck like this but my local vacuum store had a very similar Riccar Butler which I chose instead. I like the Oreck but with my allergies and asthma I need HEPA filtration. The Riccar has HEPA bags and because it did cost more than an Oreck like yours, at least the attachment tools were on par with Miele and natural bristles, etc. the strap for the Butler is funny though.. It goes around the vacuum and around your shoulder and your waist. Thanks Roger.. another excellent video!

I love my ORECK canister vacuum. I only have two suggestion to make it superb. Is to put a push button on the end when attaching tools so that the tools won’t fall off, specially the long arm attachments also an extra short pipe for attaching to a very extremely fine mesh bag to the other end where air exhaust is. For when there is nothing on the end it blows air all around sending particles of dirt and dust, and then it feels like it’s never clean. I currently use the short pipe and attach one of the filter vacuum bags to the end so it can vent air without blast air all over my home

Hey! There Is! I The Oreck Canister Vacuum From The Thrift Store! It Cost $18 Dollars. It Works Great!

It was manufactured in 2008 and you bought it new in 2016. Either they don't sell very well or it was buried in a warehouse like in "Raiders of the Most Ark" for 8yrs until you bought it. My parents have this model since 2011 and they love it. I burrow it on occasion :)

Upright Orecks are very light. My grandmother had one when she was older and needed something light. However, the belts break very easily. They are direct suction and, at least as of a few years ago, did not have filters, although they probably have them now.

I have three of these. All are marked 'Made in USA', which is almost unheard of for an electrical appliance. I bought all mine in US thrift stores. Only one of mine works properly. They are still available new in the US for around $125.

all I can say Is orecks are know for being good compact vacuums I seen no complaints about them like seen with Dysons

The bigger floor attachment looks way different than the one it should come with that has levers on it to make teeth come down. How loud is it in decibels ?

@ibasaic Great unboxing. Reference putting the *"strap-on"* your shoulder. Maybe say that you are putting the "shoulder strap" over your shoulder. 🤔 This could keep the laughter and coffee spitting to a minimum. When I first heard it, I said "what did he just say".? LoL. 😆 and then you repeated it. We both found it quite funny.

I have an older Oreck Buster B compact and it lousy section even with a fresh bag. It can barely pickup anything other than light dust. Can't imagine why. I assumed these Oreck compacts had amazing suction but I find it sucks (pun intended). Going to sell it on Ebay and find one of the classic Royal/Dirt Devil hand vacs with the cloth bag and hose attachments. Hopefully it will have better suction.

I believe that the compact canister's were made at Oreck's US plant. The newer models, I'm not sure. TTI did commit to keeping the US plant open after their acquisition of Oreck, but I think the plant and HQ was moved from Cooksville, Tennessee, to TTI Floor Care's national HQ compound in Glenwillow, Ohio. The majority of Oreck cleaners are still made in the US, but some models like the Magnesium upright, are Chinese outsourced products.

It was not BRAND new, if at all. The bag was probably used as packaging protection. A brand new unused vacuum would be wrapped up in protective Styrofoam/etc.,without looking like it’s “just thrown in there”. Even a “factory refurb” would have been wrapped up better than that. I had one very similar to that if not exactly like that several years ago, until I gave it to the Goodwill.

I Am a American Viewer but I have no idea about the bag because I got Oreck XL Element off of amazon from Oreck and the mini portable vacuum didn't come with the Upright Vacuum

there were three versions of this a 4 amp one which was so so. a 5.5 amp with a filter on the back and a 6.5 amp that was the best

Another feature that the "Blowing" option is very good for is to Inflate Air Mattresses/ Air Beds that you might use when you have company, or when you go Camping etc....I have had my little portable since 1993 when I bought a brand new Oreck XL which is the Oreck Upright, which happens to be excellent!! Plenty of Suction Power for an Upright that is less than 8 pounds!! And this Portable Oreck Buster B portable came along with the Oreck Upright to be used on anything above the Ground......and this small Oreck Portable has been used regularly for vacumming in hard to reach places, as well as using the Blowing Feature which in our case is very often used to blow-up/ inflate Air Bed which inflates the Air Beds very quickly!! The machine is very powerful, so it inflates the Air Beds very rapidly!! The feature is used very easily by simply reversing the Hose to the Rear of the small Oreck Buster B Portable Vacuum Cleaner. So I have been using the Oreck Machines, Both the Upright and the Portable Buster B for 25 years now!! For the price that I paid for the 2 machines back in 1992 I definately got my moneys worth! There has been no issues or failures of either machine for the past 25 years or so which is a real testament to the quality of these machines!! I have since been in Oreck Stores in Shopping Malls, and I've seen more modern looking Uprights, with some newer features to both machines......They are still called the Oreck XL Upright, as well as the Oreck Buster B Portable and they still come as a set when you buy an Oreck XL and I assume that they both work just as effectively, although I have not owned either. However my Brother and Sister have both traded up to the newer Models of the Upright XL and the newer portable Oreck Buster B and they are both very happy with their newer Versions of Oreck XL and the newer Oreck XL Portable Oreck XL Buster B Portables!! Nice video u made me smile at "strap on" but I cringed when u threw the used bag...who knows what was in that bag!

I wonder if indeed this was made in the USA. The attachments are definitely classic American designs. The bristle strip on the back edge of the upholstery nozzle was offered by most North American vac-makers, including the venerable Eureka company, as far back as the 1950's. Could never understand how Hoover could have dropped that feature from their drapery tool - it becomes a fabric "scraper" without any brushes or rubber fingers. The cutout in the front of the bare floor brush was standard on classic Eureka floor brushes, like the one included in the Eureka tool set I grew up with in the 1960's in Canada. Which is why I could never understand why "snow plowing" was such a problem with other tool sets! That important suction slot grabs dirt right up to the baseboards when reaching them head-on. 😊

Sorry, you got hosed on the filter. It's full size. I bought it for my cleaning crew, they hate it as a solo vacuum, it's OK as a backup. If the oreck upright had a long hose, it would be grand
