There's a colonist that was running around blind until they were given a bionic eye... so maybe there's another colonist that's still running around with 1 eye somewhere?

Curiously, it *was* Speregest that lost both her eyes and had one replaced with a bionic earlier on. Somehow, it seems in this episode she got the normal eye back before it getting replaced with a second bionic. Weird...

An interesting fact, if you've a smoke launcher, you can use it on your pawns when going against mech turrets. The turrets won't attack you at all while your pawns are inside the smoke

Yup yup, turret can't see into smoke,, so they don't attack there. That goes for all turrets, including your own. ;)

Oh my god when the laborer's came in and just immediately went for the smokeleaf, I was laughing so hard. Also, with the mech encampment, there were unstable power cells next to the turrets (they look a lot like the gloomlights that come with most mech encampments) and they set off those massive explosions you experienced. Always always always focus them first if they're there, they can trivialize some mech clusters.

I swear i read somewhere that medicine does not have any effect on surgery chance. That why i have only used herbal for operations and never had any fails in my 11 year colony, maybe 1 or 2 but thats it. Might just be luck.

The best way to deal with infestations is to make a small sealed off room filled with wooden furniture that can burn it's way into the hive room. If a place is under mountain in my base, I just use wooden floors, as that is enough to spread the fire all over.

Considering the amount of colonists you have, chances are that one of them has a Natural meditation focus. If you make them meditate at the anima tree they'll be able to unlock powers without the hassle of nobility and without waiting for quests to drop.

If I recall correctly, and any weapons-enthusiast may feel free to correct me, miniguns are called such because they are smaller versions of a helicopter-mounted variant. So they are mini, insofar that they can be lifted by a single person as opposed to, well, a helicopter.

Hey man, I'd really recommend you check out the armor testing video by Francis John. There's some interesting findings that I think you'd at least have some interest in knowing. 👀 Also fun fact, lancers just straight up have a 5% chance to insta kill upon hitting the target by just destroying the heart no matter how good the armor they have.

At 3:13 you could've gone through that northern door without triggering the proximity sensor. This would've allowed you to destroy the climate adjuster without fighting the mechs because they only wake up if the mech buildings are damaged or the proximity activator is triggered. It is a little cheesy but it allows you to not get your guys injured and/or killed. Loved all the recent series and I can't wait for MP to come out for PZ.

I love melee fighters in RimWorld. There is nothing scarier than Archotech limbed tough nimble brawler with plasma sword and wearing power armor and a jump pack. One of these guys can take down a tribal town. And with Search and Destroy mod you can just watch and enjoy the show. I use these guys as bullet sponges while my other colonists shred the enemies with long range weapons.

AA you should install a mod called "common sense", makes colonists clean the kitchen before cooking, their bedrooms before sleeping, the hospital rooms after tending to the colonistis and much more!

He does have a way of words and play style witch will make it look more fun that it might be, but I would totally recommend the game. I would recommend to watch more Rimworld KZfaqrs to get a grasp of what the game is and if you might like it

ambiguousamphibian finally discovering brawling is Good, Actually warms my heart. Uranium maces and plasteel longswords are your pals. At some point you'll want to put pawns with charge weapons behind your brawling line, things like centipedes take forever otherwise.

finish the royal victory, take the four with the most bionic limbs, and have them quest to the other location, [ship to the stars] in an entirely nomadic Torso Torusalem run with all the tech from this run

I've just started playing on permadeath and wow it's a ride. I am feeling like there needs to be better mid-game armour, flak is just trash. It feels like it's almost no different from wearing a duster. Awesome as hell playing permadeath otherwise. Naked Brutality is super fun, it took me like 6 attempts to get someone to last long enough for other colonists to show up and now we are 5.

If you aim the minigun on an object that's going to be within the trajectory of the enemies coming in, it can deal massive amounts of dmg.

One easier way of dealing with insects or any melee raid is to have your animals stack up in front of the door from your side, open the door, have them Duke it out while your pawns throw in grenades and fire them. Only 1 enemy can enter through the door at a time so your animals won't take too much dmg.

One of the mods I really liked was the trashcan mod, they are objects you can build that automatically clean up the area around them.

I know it's been mentioned a few times already but herbal medicine hurts your chances of successful surgery. With a level 10 doctor, decent bed and regular medicine you have 98% chance of successful surgery. Cant get above 98%. That infestation was nicely handled, respect.

If you place wooden furniture or carpets in rooms that are an infestation risk you can just launch Molotov's into the rooms and burn most of the inscets.

My strangest story in rimworld: After having her left hand ripped off by a rampaging turtle, Orange managed to acquire a power claw for a replacement. She entrusted her fellow survivor Blue to perform the surgery, as he was a skilled professional in medicine. As she laid on the bed for the operation she didn't know that Blue decided to partake of some smokeleaf before the operation. Apparently while impaired, Blue forgot the layout of the human body, and that this was an installation of a left hand and not a removal operation and decided that Orange's right Femur had to go. Needless to say, their friendship was strained after that.

I've had a couple of colonies with around 50 colonists for a quite a while. We're all currently traveling literally halfway around the world to leave on the ai ship. I don't have 50 colonists any more
