osu!'s Most Obscure Achievement

In a lot of video games, there exist achievements that require the player to go so far out of their way to do something that they otherwise wouldn't normally do. For osu!, these types of achievements come in the form of Hush-Hush medals. The hush-hush medal solutions tend to be really weird and obscure, and by nature, their solutions are meant to be ambiguous on the surface. However, that doesn't mean obtaining these medals is hard because of their solutions being unknown, there exist hush-hush medals that require the player to do something extraordinarily difficult. This got me thinking. What is the hardest hush-hush medal in the entire game? If this is osu's most obscure achievement, what does it take to get it?

the 180* map used to be 7* and at some point its star rating literally said "infinite" bc the bpm of the map goes up to infinity (or at least really high) on some sliders

I think it’s because of the weird slider gimmick it has. the map itself is extremely hard and is barely FC-able, but it’s not THAT hard also the map actually used to be ranked cuz it won Aspire, but now it’s only loved because the cool slider gimmick it has completely breaks on osu!lazer.

Fun fact - back in 2013 you could get banned if U'd tell publickly how to achieve Hush-Hush medals (e.g. on Osu forum). The most famous victim of this was Shiirn, mapper of old Ascention to Heaven mapset, Chipscape or ChaiN De/structioN

"To get this medal is to FC this map that you've probably never heard of before" I find really funny that I don't remember how I even found that Sky map but I have played it a lot of times...not the hardest difficulties of course, I can only barely scratch 4-star maps myself lmao

I'm so glad I became a medal farmer, medals are really fun to unlock and I really recommend you get into them if you haven't! I remember when the last four hush hush medals came out, which was around December of last year, we all helped each other find the solutions and eventually found all of them before the end of the day! In my opinion it's a really fun part of the osu community and people should really look more into it! Nice video as always ^^

btw ProBox's Solace of Oblivion is originally 7* before star rating broke on aspire maps

just a little note that you should take this 7 stars with a little grain of salt, 2019 rework did buff a lot of aspire maps back in then (some as high as 5 to 8 stars, like the solace of oblivion from ming3012), originally when this map was ranked it was 6.56 stars

I'm curious what the maximum amount of medals you can unlock all at once theoretically is on a brand new account. Sounds like an interesting thing to attempt to try.

The max that i can imagine is 9 Getting 4 star medal 4 stars medal fc Playing a map longer than 10 minutes Playing a map longer than 10 minutes with DT FC'ing a map longer than 7 minutes Getting 100 max combo Getting 500 max combo Getting 1000 max combo Getting 2000 max combo

@@rcuk1626 the paraparaMAX I marathon, it is a 24 minutes 4.89 star map after putting DT and you also get the Non-stop Dancer medal for passing it. The commenter above also missed a medal for Passing 7+ minutes map. If you're the biggest gigachad madlad you can attempt to play it with DTPF which will give you another medal called "Impeccable" which requires DTPF SS on a 4 star map. And also if you keep failing the DTPF SS 100 times and get it eventually, you'll get the "Obsessed" medal as well which needs you to submit 100 plays on a map before passing it. So getting a DTPF SS after 100 submitted attempts on paraparamax can theoretically give you 13 medals on a brand new account lol (but you'll also probably get restricted for multiaccounting/cheating)

One of my Favorites Metals is Realität which requires to get a certain score on the Beatmap *LeaF - Evanescent* song And which i used to make a Apex video with and also became Friends with LeaF when asking for Copyright Theres also a Metal called Our *Mechanical Benefactors* which is a fun one to play on

I wish they'd add the 10 star FC medals to all the modes. Hate it caps at 8 for mania when people are capable of it in 7k. Like Jakads Ragnarok FC.

I just want to give an honorable mention to Not Bluffing an Beast Mode. At the moment I am typing this, Skylord is at 0.21% on Osekai for rarity, still the 3rd rarest medal (after 10* Standard FC and 8* Mania FC) in the game, and Not Bluffing is not far behind it being placed at 0.25% rarity on Osekai an being the 5th rarest medal. The 4th is actually the Mappers' Guild Pack IX at 0.24% which is strange... oh it's a map pack consisting of 6 different 7* maps. After that is Beast Mode at 0.31% and 7th rarest, the 9* standard FC medal between it and Not Bluffing. This means the 3 rarest Hush-Hush medals are: 1. SS a 5* tech map 2. FC a 4* tech map with HDFL 3. Get 98% accuracy on a 7* tech map Tech maps, am I right?

I'm really confused rn, you said that .13% of players have the medal unlocked, which is 40 players. But what is that based off of? Cause if .13% of the player base was 40 people, there's only be ~30k osu players which is obviously noy true. I'm just curious where the .13% comes in.

If we assume there's ~500k active players, then the medal would be a .008% unlock rate, which sounds much more realistic given the difficulty.
