I also think that adam and eric will be happy together and principal and his wife will again patch up. Yeah, I read that. There is the alternate ending where Emma and Asa were told to react as if they'd just seen each other on the hill. And supposedly they broke into very large smiles. And also remember Emma did not recall the ending we saw as the ending she remembered. So yeah, the director was playing with them as much as us. And another article cited this alternate ending and that we will likely never see it. Maybe we will see it in the out takes when the show is finally over.

Upon further questioning to explain, she just deflected. I am sorry I can't remember the precise interview to point you to. But if you search Sex Education alternate ending the director explains what he did. I suspect Emma remembered that ending and she wasn't really sure what the final ending for the show was because two versions were shot. They really jerked our chains with this ending. But when they embrace I don't care if I watch another episode because that is the end game for me. That's why this will be dragged out. By the way, I tried a little searching and found at least one version.

I think Otis and Maeve will be together near the end of the third season because it's simply inevitable, otherwise the show is always the same (referring to them) but I'm sure the writers will do something to separate them again for more seasons

If it is the case, sadly they will create more obstacles to stay away each other because I find it difficult to think about how we can have more seasons if the kiss between M&O is in the final scene of the third season. There would be no reason to follow the show
