Erin scraped some skin off his forehead when he flipped over trying to use the ODM gear. a few scenes later, there's Eren in the barracks, forehead taped up. STEAM is rising from his head. Just like what you see when a titan is regenerating. BTW, just because someone is steaming doesn't mean they're titan. If they get splashed with titan blood, the blood will vanish into steam.
