Thing with Floor Jensen is she this control through her entire range. Beyond that, she can make you feel whatever the song needs. Then Toumas wrights songs that speak to your soul.

'Storytime' was originally sung by Anette Olzen, the 2nd singer in Nightwish... she had that 'pop' music vocal that gave the song such an appealing delivery as a single for the 'Imaginaerum' album in 2011. But after she was fired in 2012 and Floor Jansen took over on vocals and brought some 'power' back into the delivery on this live version.

Floor is Dutch so we call them Windmills she does with her hair. ;) For your guest - Floor is also a vocal coach and has some tips on her youtube channel, as well as some covers she did during lockdown, as well as some solo projects :)

Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. Plus... Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls. And she's also a voice coach and teacher to boot. Plus, huge vocal nerd 😉. Awesome tune , although it is kind of a popish sound (originally sung by Anette,The second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this. NWSU 🤘😎🤘.

He is the bandleader, conductor and composer of all Nightwish songs. The 6.1" tall lead singer is Floor Jansen, she is Dutch. Nightwish's third singer and well known for her versatility. She is the Goddess Queen Valkyrie of the Nightwish Army. The drummer is Jukka Nevalainen, he is now the CEO of the band, he had to leave the drumsticks due to chronic insomnia. Kai Hatto (his former teacher) is now the drummer. The bassist is Marco Hietla, a Viking legend in his own right, with a powerful voice. He left the band in 2021, being replaced by Jukka Koskinen, formerly of Wintersun, as well as Kai. Emppu Vuorinen, the guitarist, has been in the band since the foundation, this short guy knows what he's doing with his instrument and always uses his Signature Guitar. Although the band is Finnish, their 3rd singer is not, she is Dutch, lives with her husband Hannes van Dahl, the drummer of the band Sabaton and daughter in Sweden. In 2019 @Dutch RTV program “Beste Zangers” she performed “Qué Se Siente” from Ralf Sanchez. Christina, Marco, the bassist has moved to Spain. He left the band in 2021, for health reasons, but is currently reestablishing himself in another band. You might want to follow him, he is awesome. You might catch him somewhere. The band is from Finland, Floor is from the Netherlands, lives in Sweden, Troy is from England, think he lives in England. Tuomas, keyboardist, & Emppu is the guitarist, they are both from Finland, living there. Rainey, NW toured in the US last June, they will be back, follow them.

Showing Floor to an aspiring singer is not cool bro... Floor is the apex predator here. Comparisons with Floor don't end well... But then again, she is a vocal coach and one of the best people around so she could probably help any aspiring singer get to another level in their craft. Floor is extremely versatile and has control on that instrument for days... And she is putting out her own solo album very soon. Songs dropping every now and then. Just don't compare yourself to her, you find yourself looking for other jobs very quickly if you do that...
