Two interesting things about them singing "Rule, Brittannia". 1) David Jenkin's awesome school of historical accuracy strikes again as it wasn't written until 1740. 2) More importantly, the chorus lyrics are actually, "Britannia, rule the waves!" not "Britannia RULES the waves"; removing the comma and adding an S shifts it from patriotic exhortation to shameless triumphalism. It makes the whole thing even grottier as they didn’t even win in glorious battle; they used deception and a lot of explosives!
