I like how you describe leaving a comment as just sharing your own experience and not “advice” to others. Seems like even with something like IVF which seems like the exact same process for everyone, it’s so different! Wishing you all the best!

Thanks so much for all these tips! When I did a frozen transfer back in 2019 I found that laying down on my belly during the PIO shots helped. I also started out with ice and stopped when my nurse said it might hinder the medicine being able to distribute evenly. The heating pad is a great idea.

You are so right. When you said you used ice my face immediately went 😦😬 I always lay down on my stomach when I get mine. That way it takes all the pressure off whatever side I'm getting my shot. Some nights I (will soon, in 4 days) have to get 2 booty shots.

Rooting for you guys! Getting to try my second transfer in January! PIO is a necessary irritation. Lol! But can be a fun routine with your shot partner! All in how you look at it!

Thank you for the reply! The only change we will be making is cutting out Lupron. I was on Lupron for a while with my estradiol to sync up my cycle with our egg donor and build my lining. We did a fresh transfer with a donor egg in May. Which worked! Such a wonderful thing to experience! We did sadly lose our little boy at 21 weeks, but the journey still continues. Grateful for more embryos to try again. Sending you so much love and encouragement! This is a difficult road, and I have found comfort in watching your videos!

I do the second method you tried. It works wonders! Heat is best! Pro tip Jack can prep the shots to save time in the morning. Every Sunday I prep all my PIO shots for the week.

I haaaaaaate injections, this is like literally my worst nightmare, but I know I'd do it if I had to, to have kids ... I still have everything crossed for you both ❤️

Try using a tennis ball to massage the area. I found it helped a lot.

So just listening briefly it kinda makes sense the heat might be better rather than the ice because heat helps relax the muscles and ice is just for acute injury and swelling. Dunno if that helps. Lol

It totally makes sense 😅 I think ice works for some women because they're focus is on numbing the needle prick and then the heat is probably enough to loosen it back up to avoid knots but not me man 😅
