Dude! I had my doubts seeing the way you were cutting and the initial fab process when trying to picture the finished product. I thought you were going for practical and didn’t care about the way it looked, but that turned out cool and heavy duty af. You should write a program for that design and sale them. It would be good money for a local fab shop that builds and ships them for you too. It looks a lot better than any of the pre fab bumpers I’ve ever bought and installed on my rigs.

keeping in mind this is a tow truck, he's making it heavy as possible out front to counteract weight on the boom, making it more stable for tow work a bit more than overkill for anybody else

I love what you've done with the bumper so far! When you get it finished you should show a picture of the original bumper that you started with. Basically a before & after. It'll be a good way to show everyone just how good of a fabricator you are! Everyone already knows how awesome of a paint & body man you are! Keep up the outstanding work!!

The "overkill" on the front bumper is a good thing. You need that extra weight as far forward as possible for carrying out heavy trucks on the hook.

Robby, if the wiring has been messed with then just add a battery cut off switch to King Fred instead just pulling a battery lead not only is it faster but putting one inside the cab makes sense for safety so you can cut all power off in the event you ever roll King Fred or get in to an accident. BTW that bumper is looking cool AF and will look the mutts nuts when you add the extra flush lights and powder coat it.

Could you simply buff the red paint? It doesn't look very damaged on camera. Old paint on a old wrecker looks great. Maybe your name in white lettering on the door and the bumper in white would look awesome. The bumper looks fancy pancy... Well done. There used to be these white signs with magnets (search magnet signs) that contractors could stick to the side of their doors on their vehicles. Maybe fun to do on this truck too.

When using hole saws I use a spray bottle with water or soapy water. Works great. Keeping the bits cooler is much more important than lubricated. Not near as messy either. Those 1/4" drain holes get plugged too easily. 1/2" holes work much better.

It's all good Hill Billy!! I have one thing to say. The drilling. Slow speed is the key to drilling any material. Heat is your enemy. It takes the temper right out of your drill bits. Slow and lube is your ticket. Oh and no more impact drills for drilling holes in metal. Your just pounding the tips of the drill bit for no reason! Keep up the great videos gang we love them!!😁😁😁

Y'all better add some airbags to the front of the truck to hold the weight of the bumper, by the time you're finished. That sinus issue, could be all the cutting and grinding, and welding, without a mask or filter. I've gotten that way a time or two, from grinding and sanding on cast iron skillets to clean and restore them.

"Hurry and..." I figured that was a standard Utah phrase, since I noticed it on your channel and Fab Rats first. Similar to "fixin' to" used around here. I don't read other comments as much as I used to, and hadn't noticed others mentioning it until you talked about it a couple of videos ago. You do what you do, and say what you want to say, and the folks that are mad about it can get happy in the same shoes they got mad in.

you should think about biz making custom bumpers/transfer flow tanks - even stuff for boats - towers/biminis etc - you need a higher powered vac, please paint this in two tone, get some good signage on old ? - the wrecker needs a name - I suggest waylon Why did Waylon Jennings start a gardening business? Because he wanted to be a "Good Ol' Weedin' Boy"!

Robby, Look into annular cutters, they have carbide tips. Just watch out for the arbor diameter you need. If you can swap out your hole saws for annular cutters in your notching tool, you will be amazed at how well they cut and on thicker metal, the hole is smooth inside. The cutting teeth are carbide and not high speed steel, each brazed in place. Not cheap unless you opt for Chinese metric sizes and then the sizes are off from American. Buy American, better quality. I built a differential tool for holding a pinion flange and it needed a hole in the center. Using 1/4" steel would have taken forever and the hole would not be to size. An annular gave it a near professional finish with only smoothing the edges.

She's right there's "only three" on the other ones; however, there's one at every bend. So, there's four bends in the front and it needs four. When you look at that, however, there will be too big of a gap in the middle top; there needs to be a fifth one there.
