My buddies family had a junkyard when I was a kid and he would let us bomb the yard truck around out there. It was a Dodge Omni no doors or hatch and we had a blast in that thing. It had duel wheels on the front and you couldn't get it stuck we tried!!!!😁 This was back in the 80's. Good times.

I also had a friend who's dad owned a used car lot and salvage yard, most of the cars he was selling were almost salvage worthy and it sat on like 200 acres We drove and rode all kind of stuff all over that place we called the farm and it's where I got my love for vehicles

We had a 1986 Dodge d50 that my father bought brand new in the neighbor rolled it and we rolled it back over and it was totaled so I got a floor jack and a 2 x 4 and jacked up the roof back up to height and we used to drive that thing around all over New Mexico when we lived out there in the dirt in this town called meadow lake which they let the lake dry up and it's a dirt bowl now.

We used to make "gocarts" out of old Kiasers and Studebakera at my uncles junkyard when I was growing up! He let us make a 'race track' around the cornfield! This video brought back some great memories, and you're making those same memories with JD! Way to DAD!

That’s the best way for a kid to learn to drive! I had an old Malibu that my brother had hit four or five deer with. I finally got Dad to solder up the radiator and let it eat in the pasture. I taught myself to parallel park, power brake, drifting corners, and do Rockford turns. Perfect. Good for you, Dalton and JD!
@crazyfingers_kc8 ай бұрын
I grew up in Michigan, so drifting the snow covered roads was a daily occurrence with my dad. When I got my first car, I went out to an empty parking lot in the winter and did the same exact thing. My younger cousin was doing donuts with his dad's old 94 Chevy farm truck when he was around 7 years old, lmao. It definitely made us all better drivers

Relays can produce a large voltage spike when they are switched off due to the coil de-energising. Resistors or diodes are sometimes fitted across the coil of the relay to stop/reduce these spikes travelling back into the control circuit and damaging sensitive components.
@shadetreepartsswapper8 ай бұрын
Sure is a good thing you had that Sawzall and hammer cause it would have been way to inconvenient to rotate the back to the front, add the spacers to the back and put the 235's on the back. The hammer and saw were way easier..

They do make Super Swampers in 28“. Or basically 235/75/15“... That, or a set of the old Buckshots, or Co-op Grip Spurs would take this kart to the next few levels. Used of course, would be better. Also, bashing the lower spring perches a touch may grant some more wheel clearance. Or a set of the cheapest coilovers from the Jungle site, if You're feeling frisky.

The wide stance on the front wheels is to assert dominance on everything in your driveway. They must FEAR the Go-Kart

Junkyard FWD Sportage Kia- Hyundai Crossover spindles and struts would have gotten lift/ clearance for cheap. Those FWD Sportages litter junkyards..... only possible issue, drill different bolt pattern on top of strut tower caps . That particular FWD Kia, Mazda Platform which Kia was using under royalty- licence agreement,so a proper insane lift/ clearance is definitely cheaply doable.

Hey Dalton I think it might be a good idea to make like a make shift door that resembles the roll cage in the door area of a stock car except you can open and close it. That or just make it permanent that way ole JD there want go into a turn to sharp and roll outta the car. Hell I'd just get like 2 or 3 pieces of 3ft round pipe and weld it in between the door frame and front fender!! Ya know, Racecar stuff!!!!😂😂😂😂
