Oven Baked Cabbage Burgers
Ingredients
1 head of cabbage
olive oil to drizzle over cabbage steaks
salt and pepper
For beef mixture:
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 tsp minced onion
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 to 2 Tbsp chopped fresh chives (or green onion)
1 egg
For sauce mixture:
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper
1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley
1 Tbsp chopped fresh chives
Instructions
Remove outer leaves of cabbage and rinse under water. Cut off the stem end. Slice cabbage into steaks, you should have 4 to 6 depending on how big the cabbage is and how thick you make the slices. Place cabbage steaks on a greased baking tray. In a bowl combine all the ingredients to make the beef mixture. Press beef onto each cabbage steak. In a separate bowl combine all the ingredients to make the sauce. Spread sauce over each beef patty. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until cabbage is tender and cheese is golden brown.
