Kurt Russell & Goldy Hawn are a real life couple & have been for several decades now.

Kurt Russell was a Disney movie regular in his youth, and considered a heartthrob among pre-teen girls. Goldie Hawn came on the scene as playing a ditzy young blonde in sketch comedy on the old 1960's comedy show "Laugh-In" , which led to her being cast in the movie "Cactus Flower"& winning critical acclaim. Their paths crossed in the 80's while starring in a film together, They became a gorgeous, madly-in-love couple that never legally married. They raised Goldie's girls from her first marriage (one is actress Kate Hudson) and also have a son together. They've been together 40 years and are still going strong, Great chemistry, comedic timing, and solid acting. Overboard is one of the cutest rom-coms and never gets old!

This was my favorite movie when I was a kid. I'd watch it with my grandma on VHS at her house. We loved Overboard, and I'm so happy that yall enjoyed it, too!

Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn are one of those power couples that take me right back to my childhood. This is one of my favorites. Another of their films that wasn't so well received, is the one that sparked their relationship, Swing Shift, but it's still one of my favorites. And yes, Pee Wee Herman was a kids' show. But only after it had been a show for adults for some time.

This movie is really special. I cry every time she’s driving away and the boys are banging on the window. Favorite line-it never bothered you before..we’ll it BOTHERS ME NOW!!! 😂😂😂

Kurt Russell (March 17, 1951) and Goldie Hawn (November 21, 1945) have been a real life love couple (not married) since 1983. He started out as a child actor on television since he was 12, making his on screen debut in an Elvis Presley movie called "It Happened At the World's Fair" in which he got to kick Elvis in the shins twice. Later, as a teenager, he acted in many Disney movies. He worked both on the big screen as on television. In 1979, 2 years after Elvis Presley passed away, Russell even played Elvis in a made for TV movie called "Elvis". Other movies of his are The Thing, Tango&Cash (with Sylvester Stallone), Tombstone, Forest Gump (uncredited as the voice of Elvis Presley). Goldie Hawn started her career dancing and performing on stage before getting on the television show "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" in which she was one of the regulars. Hawn often broke out into high-pitched giggles in the middle of a joke, then delivered a polished performance a moment after. That is what she became famous for and what landed her her first roles in big screen movies. She often played a bubbly, "dumb", blonde in the early years. Hawn and Russell first met while filming The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band in 1966, but obviously nothing happened yet between 15-year-old Russell and 21-year-old Hawn until much later. Hawn later developed into a big name, not just acting but also producing movies. She became a big box office hit with several of her movies like Private Benjamin, Overboard (with Kurt), Bird on a Wire (with Mel Gibson), Death Becomes Her (with Bruce Willis and Meryl Streep), The First Wives Club (with Bette Midler and Diane Keaton). Hawn was married twice. From her 2nd marriage she had 2 children, son Oliver (born September 7, 1976) and daughter Kate (born April 19, 1979), both actors as adults as well. Russell was married once from which marriage he has a son, Boston, (born February 16, 1980). Hawn and Russell became an item after filming Swing Shift in 1983 and together have a son Wyatt Russell (born July 10, 1986). Though they never married, they have been together since 1983 and with all their offspring, form the perfect, blended, family.

this is one of the great romcom/comedies of all time. the chemistry between goldie and kurt is just so real obviously. the entire cast just complete it all perfectly.

They first met in '68 when she was 21 and he was 16 working on a Disney movie. In '83, they starred together in Swing Shift, started dating, fell in love and have been together ever since. Despite not getting married, 40 years together and still going strong, raising kids and staying in love...relationship goals!! Other great romcoms IMO - Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Say Anything, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, Moonstruck, The American President, Roxanne (modern version of Cyrano de Bergerac - Steve Martin is genius), Bridget Jones' Diary, My Big Fat Greek Wedding are enough to get you started on more. There are so many others. I'm personally waiting for you to get into some musicals. Jay's face will be PRICELESS, LOL!!

This movie is like Shawshank to me…if I see it on TV, doesn’t matter what part, I have to watch it. I love Goldie. My aunt, Angie, looks EXACTLY like her. It’s just a great movie. The part when her butler tells her how lucky she is to see life from a different prospective…makes me tear up every time. Silly, I know, but it’s such a great moment. Yeah, it would be illegal, but you gotta suspend reality and just go with the story. It’s just a great classic.

Thank you for reacting to this classic movie. Both Kurt and Goldie are longtime great actors, and, like everyone has said already, have been a real couple for 40 years. Kurt has been in all kinds of movies, including action, drama, horror and comedy. Most recently he was in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 playing Star Lord’s father. Another great comedy with him in the lead is “Used Cars”. It has Lenny and Squiggy of “Laverne and Shirley” in it also. Goldie has also had a long successful career, but I’ll always remember her best as the silly dancing girl in “Laugh In” and, of course, as Annie Proffett along side of her soulmate.

If you want to see Goldie at her absolute best, watch an episode of Rowan and Martin's Laugh in. She was always so much fun.

Freaking love this movie. I know obviously if it was real it would be highly illegal and problematic but it’s just a film. Their chemistry is so amazing, not hard to believe they are still married!

For more Kurt Russell, I would recommend "Big Trouble In Little China." I think you'd love it, good action, good comedy, and a decent story woven in.

This is one of my fav movies. The butler is Roddy McDowall. One of his most famous roles was Cornelius in the original Planet of the Apes. Kurt Russell played in Big Trouble in Little China and Soldier. Both were excellent movies

This is literally my favorite movie since I was 8 years old I’m 46 now and the new version with Anna Ferris is very good but this movie will always hold a special place in my heart. It played on TV every Saturday on local channel and I live in rural west coast so it feels authentic

definitely an under-rated movie. Of course you can't go wrong with pretty much any flick from the 80's. Best decade of movie making ever.

Kurt Russel and Goldie Hawn have been together since 1983 - they are both hilarious. Goldie Hawn has 2 kids from a previous marriage, one of whom is Kate Hudson who has been in a ton of movies. Wyatt Russel, Kurt and Goldie's son together is also an actor. Goldie has been acting since the 60s - one of her claims to fame is Laugh In. I love this family so much.

I love this movie! Have you guys seen Private Benjamin yet? It's another great one starring Goldie Hawn. She plays a sheltered rich girl who, due to some memorable circumstances, joins the army and comes into her own. A classic with a really satisfying, uplifting ending to boot!

This is one of my all-time favorites. Did you notice one of the twins was the best friend in Big? As others have said, they have been a couple for over 40 years. They both were in The Christmas Chronicles in the past couple years playing Santa and Mrs. Claus, it really new, funny take on Santa. IRL, the have two sons, Wyatt, that was a hockey player but turned to acting, and Boston. Kurt also helped to raise Goldies two other children, Kate and Oliver Hudson.. both famous actors! The man who plays 'Joanna's' butler is the late great, Roddy McDowall. He is a cult classic horror comedy movie set titled, "Fright Night" (parts 1 & 2). Those films are so much fun to watch! He plays the character, Peter Vincent, the Great Vampire Killer, lol.

Goldie Hawn is a national treasure. One of the first women to own her own production company because she wasn’t getting the roles she wanted due to sexism.

Kurt Russell started out as a child actor. He made an appearance on "Gilligan's Island" when he was only 12-ish. Later on, he starred in Disney movies - "The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes" for one. He's also known for "Escape From New York" "The Thing" and "Big Trouble In Little China" and of course many other movies.

Kurt Russell played Herb Brooks in Miracle. You both being athletes have likely heard of the story and seen the movie. 1980 US beat the nearly-unbeaten USSR in Hockey at the Olympics. Goldie Hawn stars in Wildcats, another sports movie from the early 80’s. She becomes a school’s football coach. They have each great careers. Many enjoyable movies from each of them and as a couple.

Oh, the third son is actor Jared Rushton who played Tom Hanks' best friend in the movie "Big", btw. :)

This is one of my favorite ROM-COMs of all time. You can truly see how much Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell love one another. They are so dynamic together working working off one another. First movie they were in together was swing shift and they were just magic. They both have some phenomenal films I hope you continue watching some of their work

Sleepless in Seattle is another classic romcom. And there's one I've never seen anyone react to, you guys could be the first: Arthur from 1981. It was a big, famous movie when it came out, but it doesn't get mentioned much today.

The roller machine she was using is a mangle which was used for pressing smooth and squeezing the excess water out of washed laundry.

Fun fact for the Elvis fan in you two, one of Kurt Russel's first big roles was being the first to play Elvis in a movie a few short years after Elvis died and is the only actor to play him that actually met Elvis as Kurt Russel's first movie role was as a kid in the Elvis movie It Happened At The World's Fair.

I've loved this movie since I saw it way back in the day in its original theatrical run. It absolutely holds up, even all these years later and no matter how many times I see it. I think you'd really enjoy "While You Were Sleeping" with Sandra Bullock. It's another romcom with a kinda zany story but ends up being an absolute joy by the end, and Sandy B is *wonderful* in it.

HOUSESITTER (1992) with Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin is another good one. Y'all would love that one. It's really funny.

"Foul Play" (1978) has Goldie Hawn matched with comedian Chevy Chase in a romantic comedy/mystery that nods to some of Hitchcock's films; something you need to see. And then for another look at Kurt Russell's work, there is the 1996 airplane thriller, with support help from Steven Seagal and Halle Berry, titled "Executive Decision".

One of my all time favorites. Glad you reacted to it. Not a rom com but a cute movie from the 90’s starring Christina Applegate, Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead. You definitely need to react to it at some point. I’m probably from your guy’s mom’s generation and my little sister and I both loved this movie. I think Jay will get a kick out of it as well.

Summer Rental (1985) a comedy with John Candy is a fun movie that not a lot of people have reacted to.

You can't go wrong with any Goldie Hawn movie, she's such a great comedy actor, highly recommend "Housesitter" and "Private Benjamin" . She's been in so many good films and her delivery is always perfect. Started in the TV Comedy series Rown and Martin's Laugh In and went into movies from there. A real comedy talent and such a beauty, also in one of Steven Spielberg's first theatrical releasse "Sugarland Express" she showed what a great serious movie actor she is. Also mum of Kate Hudson of course.

Mike Hagarty who played Bad Billy Pratt died last year... RIP One of the twins appeared in the movie Big with Tom Hanks as Billy... He also appeared in Honey I Shrunk the Kids 🤘😜

Nail Glue is freakin strong. I had a car with T-tops back in High School that had clips glued to the glass that held covers to block the sun out when tops were on. One fell off and I used my friend's sister's nail glue to glue back in place. It never fell again during my years of ownership.

The thing that grabbed her shirt tail in the montage is a clothes wringer, because they don't have a dryer and she has to hang clothes. (Thank God for modern electric dryers lol). You send your clothes through it one at a time and it wrings the excess water out into the tank at the bottom.

I'd forgotten how good a movie this really was ❤ it's been so many years. I just know I've always associated this movie as when Goldie and Kurt fell in love ❤️

Jay, as someone who feels the same way as you do about romcoms, I would suggest you two watch 'Kate And Leopold" and "While You Were Sleeping", they are very good and both you and Amber will enjoy them. One of them has a sci-fi element in it that you will really appreciate.

To me, there is a big difference between the classic romantic comedies & the modern day formulated rom-coms. I will watch & rewatch an older/classic romantic comedy. It is rare that I even take the time to watch a 2000 rom-com, all the plots are the similar or even the same. Thanks for the reminder of how great Kurt & Goldie are on screen together.

In swedish Goldie Hawn is "the Blonde" in every movie, The blonde who fell overboard, The blonde who got in the army and so.. A classic and very funny and great actress ;)

You guys need to check out the movie that brought Goldie and Kurt together.... Swing Shift. It's a movie from 1984 about a woman (Goldie), who's husband is in the Navy during WWII. She takes a job at a defense plant and meets a supervisor (Kurt). The story is a good one, the supporting cast is a who's who of talent, like Holly Hunter, Ed Harris, Christine Lahti and Fred Ward.
