In this video I start on the overhead cabinets building the bulkhead front and the cabinets over the seat frame. in the next instalment I will be continuing with the cabinets over the kitchen.

Thank you. seemed a better option than trying to make doors myself, could do it but is alot more work.

Top tip IKEA doors👍 my wife was listening and said "didn't I suggest that?" 🤔😂 Trip to IKEA coming up!
@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 Жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful. top tip would be to ensure you have the door orientation for the mounting brackets correct so for example a 30x60 door is not the same as a 60x30 door as the holes are cut differently. Dont ask me how I found this out... :-|

I have a feeling you're going to quite a popular chap after this series..haha, excellent work and if to copy means to compliment then I'll be sending quite a few compliments your way..😂 oh and just a quick update I received my panels today and mine fit exactly as yours do in the h2 ...terribly that is, not too impressed at Solway panels fit tbh at present. 🤔 Anyway, nothing I can't over come but for the price I'm a little disappointed.. Right..that just leaves me to say can't wait for the next instalment!! 😁👍🏼

Great work, it's really coming along. Do you find they are strong enough without needing the screw into the roof supports?
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
Although I did not film it, they are actually screwed on the left and right into the shower cubicle and the bulkhead cover. now although I have not done the whole monkey swing to test them (wouldn't dare!) I have had a good yank at them and all seems fine.

@@wiltshirecustomcamper7203 Good stuff. They certainly look sturdy. I'm wondering how to go about mine on the other side above the kitchen (without any sidewalls going to the floor for support) and thinking I will bond a batten the roof to be sure while I have my ceiling down. belt and braces as you might say!
@nur5ey12 жыл бұрын
@@JakeRigby1 same thinking too🤔..skyhooks needed me thinks!!

@@nur5ey1 Some people seem to be screwing into ceiling... mine is flimsy cladding so not really feasible. I think another batten is the easiest option.

Great stuff, what I have seen so far has been enjoyable, was wondering how that alloy bottom profile is fixed to the cupboard sides and bottom, to me it seems to be magically floating there, how did this actually get fixed to support what goes in there. Thanks
@wiltshirecustomcamper72037 ай бұрын
it is screwed into the base on the inside. have a look here and the side on profile will make more sense. hope that helps. shop.morlanduk.com/morland-locker-door-profile-57x38x2200mm-aluminium.html

Hi there great job I've decided to use IKEA doors do you know if they do an edging iron strip Thanks

I'm really enjoying your series. Are you working to budget or do you just spending as you need to? What do you think the final budget will be? Also, will you be installing air con in the living area? Thanks...
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
No budget as such but had a good idea of what would be needed and how much it may all cost before starting. I thnk a good way to approach this is to add up the cost of all the items in your build like fridge, boiler etc etc then add 30%-40% on top for good measure and you will not be too far out, and if you don't have the budget for the extra 30%-40% then either don't even start or accept it might not be all you wanted at the end.. Oh! no aircon because A) too heavy and expensive and B) in UK don't need it as summer lasts approx 4 days in July.

Could you tell me what height the overcab shelf is at from the floor level...and then the height from the shelf to the ceiling? I'd also be interested to know the maximum width you're getting across the ceiling from wall to wall? I can't find these measurements anywhere, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
@wiltshirecustomcamper7203Ай бұрын
Sounds like you need quite a few measurements. might suggest going to a dealer or similar with a cheeky tape measure and get everything you need in one hit. cant give you width now as wall coverings fitted etc.

Can you remember what doors you used,,that's exactly what I'm looking for, looking in ikea but there's a few to choose from,,
@wiltshirecustomcamper72032 жыл бұрын
I can. They were Ringhult gloss white. be sure to check the orientation when you order as a 60x40 and a 40x60 are not the same, the hinge cut outs are different locations! don't ask me how I know that!! I chose the doors first to the 'best fit' for the space from the available sizes and then made the cabinets to fit the doors, hence the infill pieces. good luck.
