Overnight Bushcraft Mountain Scout, NY Camping Hiking Foraging

We found a bushcraft paradise in Upstate NY. In the video we talk about some land we are looking at, do an overnighter with campfire cooking and military surplus gear, then go on a scout through the mountains.

Excellent. When you were talking about the stone walls and wagon trails the revolutionary war popped in my head for some reason . Could visualize patriots moving through the hills. Glad to see y’all doing well . Keen eye for rubs and scrapes 😁Y’all have a great evening

John Burgin thanks my friend. I had that feeling too. As for deer, I saw a little fresh sign up there and found a pretty key watering hole with 3 or 4 good sized deer drinking out of it mid afternoon. Have a good one

I grew up in the Syracuse area. I miss the old Adirondack mountains. Dad and I spent many days hikings those old hills.

Are those old stone walls fences or were they part of the monuments left to us by our viking ancestors? Look into stone chambers of the hudson valley.

Hope you guys get the plot! Be sure to test the water before you buy. I can't speak for NY, but upper PA has their water table get contaminated pretty badly by fraking.

That is good Sasquatch Country, especially if it is up near the Taconics. Check out 'Missing 411' to locate the cluster of missing reports from Upstate New York along the Taconics. Near there is where I saw my Sasquatch, so say 'hi' to him for me if you run across him.

Paul T. Its definitely squatch country. We had a visitor after we turned in for the night. Just came in and checked it out, left soon after. The next day during our hike, we heard a few knocks, some strange crow like calls, and saw some movements through the trees. One was a quick “glimmer” running through trees. It was quite strange, translucent. The other was a large brown furred something, moving through the tree line. It wasn’t a deer.

TheTruthlady thank you very much! We bring a couple portions of his dog food along with us. He watches us eat waiting for a taste of whatever we are having, before finishing his food. Got to keep an eye on him, though. He is a bit of a klepto.

Pooter Stomper thanks brother. gotta good feeling about it. If we do get it, and you are ever in the area, there is an endless amount of woods to explore. Its quite a bit different than PA, which has some pretty good rolling hills. This area has wooded mountains and it just goes on and on. Honestly, light weight Nessmuk style loadouts for the terrain would be ideal.
