PART 1: The Henry family is in crisis. Father Dwight is a serial cheater struggling with addiction, while mother Thelisha is an emotionally unavailable woman who seems numb to (or unaware of) the frequency of her husband’s infidelities. I conducted an update that aired in January of this year that aired on OWN’s IFML. However to all those who haven’t seen the episode and are interested in an update...my children are doing well, I am happily divorced (Thelisha Glover) and dating. I am currently in med school to become a Physician Assistant (Morehouse School of Medicine) and me and my children are healing together from the wounds of our past. To those who are in toxic relationships, there is hope and a way of escape. You must have faith in God, believe in yourself, get the help needed to escape, and most of all DO THE WORK! Prayers and blessings unto you all.

Watching you go through all that pain really touched me deeply. You are so beautiful, I felt like crying looking at the hurt in your eyes.I am so angry you were treated so badly by a man you trusted to have your best interest at heart. Honestly hun, he never deserved you. I know you grieved for a very long time but know you are a queen, a real man will cherish you not destroy you. Keep sweet and thank you for giving so many of us women hope that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Ikr I’ve watched these episodes over and over again and I must be honest and say that I have to find a episode and watch it when im feeling low battling depression going through all the hurt that I feel quite frequently to get myself bacc grounded, I know that I should seek therapy with the things going on inside of my head but until I can be brave for the inner little girl inside of me who harbors all of these different emotions good bad and indifferent I must say watching these episodes do help me, I wish that I could meet her one day her energy her spirit is electrifying her wisdom and knowledge her intellect and the way she carries herself the way she speaks even her tone is very comforting it draws you to her and makes you feel like you can open up idk her outside of this show and I know that ppl are ppl all over the world but I will just say that you can tell that she is anointed and has a special calling on her spirit on her soul and for what she’s allowed us the viewers to watch and consume I just wanted to say that I’m so grateful for that I can go on and on but I truly do thank God for using her as a vessel to help ppl of all different walks of life, SO IN CLOSING ID LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU MRS IYANLA FOR YOUR SERVICE FOR ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE AND CONTINUE TO DO YOU ARE TRULY A BLESSING TO SO MANY BROKEN AND HURT PPL ALL OVER THE WORLD‼️‼️🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😢😢 MAY GOD CONTINUE TO KEEP YOU SAFE AND MAY YOU OBTAINED EVERYTHING IN LIFE THAT YOUR HEART DESIRES ABUNDANTLY💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙

actually Ms. Johnson.. she deserves what she has. She is as much the problem as he is. The only difference is.. this show is about saving the women.. not the men. She knew he was what he is long ago. It could be argued that.. if it wasn't for her inaction, he would have learned the things he needed to learn to move forward in his manhood.. a long long time ago. It could be argued that her apathy is just as toxic as his substance abuse and emotional manipulation.

With respect, I really don't agree with that term toxic masculinity. To be masculine is not toxic. The behaviour of the individual that is exhibiting negative or toxic behaviour is toxic whether you are a man or woman. We need to stop buying into this term.

@Andrea Mackintosh I’m so over this anti man “men are trash” rhetoric. Women can be/are trash too. If toxic masculinity is a thing, toxic feminism needs to be too. I’ve met some terrible “feminists”
@Ash2beauty
@Ash2beauty 3 жыл бұрын
@@SynterraSteen toxic masculinity is simply a man using his stature, strength etc(natural God given traits) to intimidate/manipulate a woman. And it is a thing , I would know as a woman that survived a marriage filled with mental/emotional/physical abuse. I have a problem when people flip a man’s issue and says “women r this and that too”, ignorant to the fact that God has given the man the divine role as the “HEAD”. If the boss is acting a dang fool, you can expect the workers to do the same.
@nixxb449
@nixxb449 3 жыл бұрын
@Love Jones completely agree. Being masculine or feminine should not be linked with the word toxic. It's purely the behaviour of the individual that should be considered as toxic behaviour. People really need to break down the meaning of words. This guys in this series clearly exhibits emotional abuse, manipulation, deception (among other things) towards his family. I would say the same thing if the roles were reversed in this situation.

That life of hell wont end until she leaves him, and she need to leave without him knowing til she is safe somewhere. He reminds me of my own father whom was very aggressive with women. The fact that when Iyanla asked what does Thelisha want, and Thelisha says "I want to heal" as opposed to "I wanna fix my marriage" is important! She's saying she wants to feel better FIRST! "Afforded me to have a son outside my marriage". He actually thinks it is a privilege because he brought home a son? He never even acknowledged and apologize for the hurt he caused her. 😭😭😢. We must no longer invest the best years of our lives with men who want a victim not a partner.
