I'm not a plumber and nor will I become one, but I love your videos. I find it incredibly interesting to find out more about how the stuff that fills our houses actually work. Was worried when you disappeared for a while and was very happy to see you back! Nice to see Marcus again too.

Insurance is a rip off - they always do this Depriciation B/S - but NEVER facter in about inflation !! - save your insurance money every year in a piggy bank and buy a van vault - or remove them every night - its THE only way to beat them - and NEVER BUY A TRANSIT - ther too easy !!

Thanks for your videos. Much appreciated by me. I changed career at 43 and going through the process to become a heating engineer. I do minor plumbing and handyman jobs at the moment after being a cook for 27 years. Thoroughly enjoy the challenges and find watching you and a few other blokes gives me confidence and awareness to tackle jobs. Like baking a cake you need to follow a process. And like a cook takes 10 years to know the game well. I prefer the hours these days. All the best 👍

Pete NEVER THINK ITS BORING, You perform tasks that MANY people don’t do, and if they have they can skip the video….You worry way too much about what people think, just do what you !!! I speak for myself, i really enjoy watching you and all your pals do what you do and wish i had a 1/4 of your knowledge!!! On top of all so many plumbers here. In the USA wont even bend like you do, which i think looks soooo much better than just using elbows, etc…

Great video. Started back in 1979 and although i dont do it as such anymore but still love to watch this stuff . Like dads and plumbers all over i still pass places i did stuff and occasionally mention it to family including a memory you triggered here , a full system with a Camray oil boiler and on the day of my 30th birthday i helped my mate who arrived to convert the Aga to oil and i had to drill the oil line like your prv , only it was sandstone and thicker . So in my mind the videos are very relevant. So thanks for all the effort you put in to do it .

About 4 years ago a sparky I knew got all his milwaukee tools stolen. He was with Direct Line at the time. He got told to go out and buy new tools so he can carry on working and to send them the receipts of the tools he had and the receipts of the new tools. He got reimbursed the cost of the new tools. Needles to say I'm with Direct Line.

I'm not a plumber either, but I really enjoy your videos. Why? Because you're really good at your profession and it's fun to watch. Your pipe bending and lagging work is pure art. Don't say it's boring, because we don't think it's boring. Sorry about the lad losing his tools. It was very interesting to hear about his experience with insurance. I hope he is able to recover all of his kit and get back to full work soon.

Nice one, PB, was really interesting taking us through that boiler install. But your mate with the van break-in, that was real life, and real life plumbing. Could be real life any trade, because it is an occupational hazard for tradespeople, to have wretched others scouring around like rats, thieving from your van. Nice your mate was honest, bare bones, is-what-it-is, making me more aware of tool insurance and current status on van break ins. More should be done when these thieves are caught, because they steal to order, to sell off, what you as a tradesperson have had to learn, mould, maintain. Some tools simply do the job themselves, you've had them so long and well. Other than your four limbs, your wallet and mobile, your van is your next limb. Has all you need for the day's work, months and years' worth of tools, and it is party to your way of earning an honest living. You work the day, you come home, and it's either you spend more time emptying the van, when you're possibly tired and hungry, or you leave it for the next day. Having to drive back through possible peak traffic, it's the last thing on your mind. Park up, get in, shower, food, rest, bed. But it seems realistically you have to fend for yourself, there's little to no deterrence enough, you're left to pick up the pieces. You guys are 👍👍👍

I learned the hard way no tool insurance didn’t have a theft but my van caught fire lost everything nothing was salvageable. Still trying to get all tools together that you forget you had. Van insurance only gave me enough to get some power tools and a few bits. Pete helped me massively can’t thank him enough! Still no van but I’ll get there.

Very neat job 👏 my wife has friends in Perivale, they have a Worcester Bosch CDi, its > 10 years old, I feel its never been properly serviced by BG I recommend a Viessmann 200W 35kW Combination Boiler, as a very good replacement 👌 & save them money on gas bills 👍 I wonder what's your workiing area ? I've no idea to be honest, it's a thought for the future for them, BG are charging them for pressing a reset button not opening the Greenstar CDi up

I fitted 2 Van guardian alarms to my van, touch sensitive deterrent!!! This, I’m hoping, will scare them off on initial attempt and also prevent damage to doors. I also have van vault for added security. These w&nk£rs who break into peoples vans need to be stopped!!! Police don’t do anything so take it on yourself to do the work. I don’t have tool insurance just for the simple fact that a lot of my tools are well over 5-8 years but still there worth a lot to me, without them you can’t do your job. Keep your tools safe people!!!!!!

Id be careful explaining what kind of security system you have, especially if it was wireless, blockers are too easily accessible, id of pushed for more money also, it's all cool with depreciation but what if you only used the tool once or twice, hasnt really made its money back, not covering radios is sacrilege as its the most important tool in the van, hope he gets back on his feet asap

Rhino trade insurance was on uni-lite podcast saying they know people cant keep receipts forever so they dont realy ask for them during a claim and that it was straight forward, doesnt sound straight forward tbh.. which was a big selling point for me going with rhino... seems asif they insure you take your money then palm you off and that rhino is just a broker and its the ACTUAL insurance company policies you stuck with as rhino dont insure you... anyways who keeps receipts for so many years! Seems a scam! Would it not be better to ask for receipts when you get the quote at the start.. i think i will be looking around for some other tool cover..
@billyboardman74885 ай бұрын
I pay yearly to rhino for tools & liability. The tool claim was dealt with a firm based out of London called the Davies Group. Its was stressful at the time like you say finding receipts but also couldn’t find a few so had to take the hit. The women on the phone said to me - no receipt for the item no cover for it because you can’t prove when, where & how much you bought it for.
