Of course there are many points to address here, so I will address Heaven & the Afterlife. However, first I must say that both the Torah & Qur'an are the laws and expectations of G-D (Allah), they are not meant to be separate religions (religion is a man made concept or cult). As humans we would like to prove and gloat about our differences (unfortunately). This was not the intention of G-D (Allah); to create religion. G-D wants us to live a Good Life by believing in him and following his peaceful path. Both the Torah & Qur'an are from the same one true G-D (Allah). The laws don't contradict one another in either book, which means that a Jew or Muslim could live in any land together in peace without shaming G-D in anyway (like keeping kosher, praying, punishment for your non-good actions). The slight differences in some of the laws pertain to the expectations of being a CHOSEN person. What is a CHOSEN person? A Chosen person is a teacher for G-D, spreading his laws and expectations (from the Torah & Qur'an) to the world in order for humans to know the differences between Good & Evil for the purpose of choosing Good and of course the belief in the one true G-D (Allah). So, all jews are muslims and any muslim that teaches G-Ds word (like HASHIM) are considered CHOSEN (And therefore if HASHIM chooses to be a Chosen person then he will need to follow the Torah laws). Now, just as children should be thankful to their parents for bringing them into this world, all humans need to be thankful to G-D for creating the heavens and earth and all that it encompasses. Although the Jew & Muslim should be working together hand in hand to enlighten the rest of the world, we tend to allow the unholy evil forces to drive a wedge between us and our goals for G-D. This is sad because our Great Grandfather ABRAHAM should unite us as family. Finally, back to Heaven. G-D transcends the heaven and earth. Afterlife! The Torah does mention that we have a soul. He breathed life into our bodies. The afterlife is not mentioned in the Torah because G-D wants us to concentrate on living a good life. Which makes logical sense toward his creation of our world. Life itself is a privilege given to us by G-D and if we followed his decrees then Life Would Be Awesome (Very Pleasing). The Torah is directed toward the responsibility of the Chosen and therefore would not stress an Afterlife. G-D does not want to distract from his creation and goals toward life. The Qur'an is not only about living a good life, it is also a warning to the Chosen people to not go astray and it clarifies what has taken place after the Torah, like the coming of Jesus and what was Jesus's purpose. The Qur'an also mentions the afterlife and reward and punishment. This is to give the non Chosen people (or the rest of humanity) more purpose for living a good life and what to expect after life. This is an extremely important aspect for humans because it is stressing the point that G-D is the ultimate judge (in the Torah as well), he sees everything and will decide what happens to your soul. I hope now you will all see that the Torah & Qur'an both have purpose and they work in parallel together. PEACE & LOVE, always more to come...

I think the point Joseph was making is a sensible one, in that in Islam since there is a significant focus on the after-life, this eventually MAY lead some Muslims to engage (ignorantly) in extremist behaviors such as suicide bombing. This is obviously an issue we have to deal with, it is not sufficient to say that since Islam prohibits these actions, therefore it is not our concern.

This guy is correct. In Judaism, Jews do not focus on afterlife. Our goal isn't to die but life as long as possible to serve and love G-d by helping his creations. When we die we can't do that anymore. So, he isn't running away from the topic and he is extremely knowledgeable. It is just hard for people who don't come from a faith like this. We also don't believe that G-d will curse those who aren't Jewish. We are all G-d's children and deserving of His love. Again, different for most people to understand. As a Muslim who speaks Arabic as a first language of mine and read Quran with out any translations, it hurts me to see a debate like this one where the muslim gentleman miss understand the religion of islam and its core and I know its not his fault at all, this is what he learnt and understood from his sheikhs . As an example, at the beginning of the video the muslim gentleman asked the jewish gentleman about Judaism and wether as a jew you can win paradise(salvation) even if you don't believe in Moses and he was so keen to get an answer because it would no make scene to him to believe in a religion with out believe in its prophets. First we need to clarify few points about religion. 1) Religion and its core is based around/about GOD. 2) The names of the prophets are just names not that they don't mean anything but their duty was to deliver a message from GOD/religion....but prophets are not the religion. 3) As a muslim you are not in title to say which Prophet is Holier/better/Closer to GOD than the other even Mohammad. (for muslims check Quran- Baqarah, chapeter 2 - verse 285). 4) There are many different names in Quran to clarify and identify different groups. There are (sons of Adam, sons of Israel, jews, Christians, muslims, Believers....etc) but when the Qur'an talked about salvation and those who will win paradise it stated the "Believers" and believers are or could be from any religion that believe in god. the question is are we as muslims who believe in god, have we seen GOD? the answer is NO. same for jews and Christians they believe in GOD too but have they seen him? the answer is NO........but what will distinguish this person from the other is the good work and this is something all religions have and it may differ based on the laws that religion carries and how people interpret it with time. but what I am sure of when reading the Quran is that when it talked about salvation the verses, it always came in the context of 'those who believed and done good work their life shall win paradise'. At the end I as believer in GOD know that GOD who created me created all human being. Why would he love me more than those who he had created in different parts of the world, born to different families with different religions, there must be something that we all have in common and thats believe, good will and good work.

Brother Hashim seemed didn't understand that in Judaism there's no clear dogma regarding what happens to the soul after death. He had preconception that in all Abrahamic religions there are heaven and hell, which is not the case for Judaism/Jewish afterlife. The topic is barely mentioned in the Tanach (Jewish Bible) that's why they don't know if hell or heaven exist so that they mostly focus to do good deed in this life and other people.
