Namaskaram, After a long time, it feels great to be back on my channel.
Today I have a surprise recipe for all of you using BITTER GOURD (Pavakkai/பாவக்காய்). This is a type of Sambhar that is traditionally made using Bitter Gourd. It's truly a Thanjavur delicacy. I am sure everyone of you would love it.

I discovered this channel just today and have been going through all the recipes. Watching Shantha paTTi reminds me of my own grandmother - her style of speaking as well as her recipes. And it such a joy to hear her say "karamadhu" - probably part of why her style appeals to me even more. I want to thank both her and her grandson Shravan for bringing us this channel.

Namaskaram!!! I really enjoyed watching Patti's video. They are really authentic Kumbakonam samayal. Just on this Paavakkai Pitla, we usually give a final touch by adding grated coconut which is roasted brown in a thick bottom pan with 2-3 tbsp of coconut oil on top of it and then close the gas, add again 2-3 tbsp of coconut oil and close the lid.
