A short film to highlight the challenges women in our country face to access even a basic need of a Sanitary Pad.
THE PROBLEM OF MENSTRUATION:
Only 15% of India's menstruating women use sanitary napkins.
66% of girls are unaware of menstruation before their first period.
70% women think menstrual blood is dirty.
66% of girls and women manage periods without toilets.
Over 85% of women who menstruate use unsafe materials, resort to shocking alternatives like unsanitized cloth, ashes and husk, sand and leaves.
Over 23% of girls dropout of school completely after reaching puberty.
THE SANITARY PAD BANK:
The lack of access to Sanitary Pads is truly appalling, no matter what the reason. There are thousands of women in need of effective menstrual products, basic items we consider a necessity. Together we can help make a difference in these women's lives The SANITARY PAD BANK is an unique initiative by TEE Foundation, to ensure sanitary pads reach the needy and at the same time it invokes the involvement of the populace to create a self-sustaining system.

With the increase in the price of sanitary pads they seem to be a luxury than a right....For making them affordable for everyone its necessary we lower its price....

pritisha gogoi they didn't increase the price. pre GST the tax was 13.68% and now it is 12% and this is done to increase the sale of local and biodegradable sanitary pads because the sanitary napkins which are used now are made of plastic and after its disposal it is either burnt or disposed in the soil. which is increasing the pollution. and as nearly half of the population is using it and on the monthly basis it's intensity is high. so to overcome this they had put sanitary napkins in 12% slab because any change in the government scheme would first affect middle class and lower class people so they might shift to the local biodegradable pads which are much cheaper than the plastic pads.

rashmi tewari both work in the same level. but aftermath of disposal of plastic pads are creating a trouble. u can switch to the biodegradable ones.

This was a bit of my life. I am a father of a daughter and my wife dies when she was 6 years old. I didn't married again. when she got the days of adolescence I was there with her and I made her feel that she can share all things with me . she is 14 and still she talks freely about this with me.

earlier our forefathers restricted the women undergoing their mestrual cycles from entering the kitchen, temple, for good reasons ,so as to give them some rest and also to maintain the hygiene of those places, coz they didnt have access to sanitary pads to maintain the proper hygiene, but the so called people of past generations misunderstood it and took it otherwise, giving them the name of sanskaar and all,that god will get angry if a women undergoing her mestruation go to temples or even do puja, and many other things like one cannot touch pickels else they get spoilt, one cannot enter kitchen, touch drinking water, even the utensils used by the women during those days are washed again for purification....this is soo lame...hope our generation and coming generations could bring some positive changes....

Government should make pads tax free there should be some nonprofit government companies that should supply pads to these girls at lower prices like of 10 there are many countries that have taken this step and it helped a lot this is not a thing to laugh its a SERIOUS thing . 12% GST on sanitary pads 0% GST on Mehendi, Sindoor

This girl acts so amazingly.. I have seen her from a long days.. This film carries a social message to our society.. good job... Actually in some states under some government policy this process is already issued that sanitary pad should be distributed amongst lower class family in 6 rupees .. but it's being processed or not I don't know..

All the people in the comment section should know that sanitary pads have the potential of creating environmental disasters, as in India no one, I mean NO ONE disposes the pads properly, I genuinely feel they should switch donate 'pads' to donate 'menstrual cups' as they are not only environmental friendly but are also one time investment.
