They didn't want to let there audience down( whom were 8 probaly inpoversed & needed the distraction( in a time of no tv or internet) the show had to go on.hmm

Read in wiki that she, Statas los her voice due to a surgery. She like that wonderful baritone , Pons, that PlayS the evil Taddeo. Both alive, Deserve a tribute !!
