I love how people make negative remakes about this team! Give them credit for making it this far and as they still continue to play giving their unfortunate circumstances. UConn never fails to amaze me. Most of ya would have a mental breakdown on the slightest inconvenience, yet we have these young women still playing hard each night! It’s not an easy thing do especially playing in the NCAA tournament they deserve more praise playing among the best teams in the nation year in and year out! I agree with you 100%. When Edwards was out those two games, Brady was to basically clog the middle on D. That is what they need to do now when she enters the game. Have Brady on offense hang in the middle for rebounds or a bunny. And on defense, smother, clog, etc on the other end. Have Edwards play the high set and drive, shoot or pass on offense. Brady coming in cold like that is tough. I almost always started when I played. The couple of times I didn't, I looked like Ice did. Not pretty to see. No rhythm or flow. I wouldn't have Ice go high set at all. Have Ice stay down low. Go Husky's.

Pretty good take. They're hurt, you know. Geno said last night the five players sitting on the bench would probably beat the team that's playing, and he's right. I think they'll bow out in the 16 or the 8, even now. It can happen, yes; but it's not likely. They just don't have enough gas in the tank to get there. It's been said a million times: there's nobody who doesn't deserve their spot in the tournament, because it's so damn difficult to get there. There are no easy games. What it comes down to is a contest of will. Everybody is hurt, with players on the bench, and stove up from a long season. Who wins is more a contest of will; who can find it in themselves to go out and drag the win home against equals, about half the time, despite being hurt and stove up. Sometimes a team will obviously outclass the field too, as the Huskies and others have on occasion in the past, but that's not this year unless it be South Carolina (and I have my doubts about them). We're playing two freshmen 39 minutes a game and a third for 17-20. This really isn't a winning formula. I still have hope, don't get me wrong. I will watch, and hope, unless and until they lose. Maybe they can do it. In addition to the two frosh, we're also playing three All Americans. With Paige on your side, there's never no hope. All things are possible. But I don't think so; not this year. I think they can squeak by Duke and maybe Baylor too. USC is more in the wishful thinking category (should be a good game, though, if it happens.) But from there it's Iowa, Colorado, LSU or UCLA, and that's before you get to the other side of the bracket. I'm hopeful. But I am not confident. In other news, I'm really proud of Creighton too. They lost by 4 points to UCLA and had them on the run for the whole first half. Kudos and well done. And the quote of the day goes to Felicia Legette-Jack, the coach of the Syracuse Orange. When asked what she would do without Fair, she said "You saw them pass the torch just a minute ago. Her name is Georgia Woolley. And she is ready."

@@go2hvn2008 OH please. Curb your enthusiasm;😅 Paiges line: 32 pts, 10 reb, 6 assists, 4 steals, 1 block. She's the one who had the presence of mind to call the TO when Shade tipped the steal. She's the one who drew three defenders thus leaving KK alone. She's the one who passed the ball. If she would have attempted the shot she no doubt would have been fouled at the three point line. Now how many of those free throws do you imagine Paige would miss? None. I've watched her since 7th grade. She's a generational talent a phenom, a force of nature. KK didn't win the game with that shot, she took the UCONN lead from three to six. And no doubt if she wasn't passed the ball by Paige they still would have walked off that end of the court with at the very least two points. We love our frosh, Shade and KK especially but c'mon. It was Paige, Ashlynn and KK who made key buckets towards the end to seal this victory. We all know how valuable Nika is to UConn, and we all know the silly turnovers and fouls that she commits which can cost us games (ND game). And maybe the “ demotion” to a situational substitute was hard to handle. But, in the heat of the moment, isn’t all that forgotten? You can miss bunnies and make unforced errors, turning the ball over in a one possession game. Is she a five star recruit or not? C’mon ICE….step on the gas again.

Well put together video. This was one of those games for the superstitious to be on 'full alert'! When Nika fouled out anyone watching at home had to go into a pattern while watching the game. Should they sit somewhere else? Go the bathroom? Drink something? Take their glasses off or leave them on? And, sorry announcers, turn the volume down low or off all together? Don't allow anyone to distract them during the game? Don't answer the phone? ANY DEVIATION OF WHAT WAS SUCCESSFUL EARLIER IN THE GAME "CANNOT" BY CHANGED! Utilize the time out breaks to do what you have to do BUT BE BACK SO YOU DON'T MISS A SECOND OF THE GAME! When the game was over, it was okay to utter several times in a row, "Oh my God!" Personally, when I regained my senses and was able to think clearly, the moment(s) in the game which made me close my eyes was whenever Ice touched the ball. BUT, IT IS CORRECTABLE! Ice got caught up in the moment and mentally never felt her feet on the floor when she entered the game. You know, it's hard sitting on the bench watching Paige do her magic and rooting for the team and then hear, "Okay, get up! You're going in!" From this point on SHE LEARNED A BIG LESSON which will define her game into next season. STAY FOCUSED! If she is coming off the bench, study what the other team's defense is like. What offensive moves can be successful against them. Are they crashing the offensive boards? Who, in particular? And on and on. I expect A GREAT CONTRIBUTION FROM ICE in the upcoming games. Without making this comment about the length of 'The Tale Of Two Cities' let's just say everyone else was fantastic! In closing, I have no idea about Duke. But I will state this: All teams scouting UCONN realize their team defensive pressure is something they have to be concerned about. But, once the game starts, whoever UCONN is playing is immediately in a state of shock about how relentless the pressure is on them to operate their offensive schemes.

Yes, Paige is nothing short of incredible. However, she is only one player on a squad of five and if it wasn't for freshman Ashlyn Shade stepping up and scoring 45pts in the first two tournament games they wouldn't be in the sweet sixteen. Seems like Edwards is a little off kilter after getting her nose broken. Even with the mask she seems tentative. The 'rebounding' with one hand pisses me off. Jumping up with one hand to try to bat the ball to someone else when you have position is a terrible way to try to get a rebound. I realize sometimes its your only hope but they lost out on several rebounds doing that when they had position to bring it down with both hands. Getting where they are now with half their team out with injuries is an amazing accomplishment and Im hoping they can make the final 4.

Why she can take them to a final four? Matchups. The draw the rest of the way isn’t really that bad. Duke can beat UConn. But UConn will definitely have a chance in that game. Duke is inconsistent on the offensive end. Why UConn may not make it? Lack of depth. Muhl fouled out and they were in trouble. And it was more about ice Brady coming in than it was muhl exiting. Brady, Q, and Ines aren’t ready for this. And it is dangerous to have them on the floor for a second. Ice unraveled at the end of the game. Couldn’t catch the ball. She was scared.

Even in their injury-depleted state, Connecticut plays recruits ranked in the top 1-20 of their high school classes plus a couple of international players. It takes a total TEAM effort to win against teams like South Carolina (good luck with that, they've already beat UConn by 18), Texas, Notre Dame, UCLA, and NC State. Based on UConn TEAM stats, I don't see them advancing past Duke, Baylor OR USC. Oh, I just remembered, "We have Paige, You Don't", that's exactly what C. Williams said when UConn lost (badly) in 2022 Finals to South Carolina when Destinni Henderson held PB to 14 points, Williams scored 2, and Fudd 3....

Paige and Azzi were only freshmen playing against experienced SC upperclassmen. And let’s not forget that UConn had also JUST lost a key starter to a broken wrist in the game before. Earlier that season when (healthy) UConn and SC faced off their game had been much closer.

If I remember correctly, the referees had a big hand in keeping Paige's score down

The real hero of the game was NIKA. She held the mighty midget to 2 points in the first half. When she fouled out with 5 minutes to play. In a 4 minute span Syracuse outscored UCONN 14-1. Paige couldn't cover her and KK couldn't cover her. Even if Fair was a chair, KK still couldn't cover her. Get real. Edwards fumbled and bumbled. Brady turned into butterfingers. KK, except for a lucky shot that rolled around the rim at the end. Continued with her out of control play taking moronic shots. Nika deserves as much credit as Paige for this win. Nika did a number on Fair, while Paige and KK couldn't guard the mighty midget. A team has 5 players on the floor at one time. This is not all about Paige.

You are correct, it should NOT be all about PB, but Muhl did not "do a number" on Fair (who is NOT a midget), Fair was just off. Fair got 20, Muhl got ZERO points.
