In the regular season I would have thought it was a strict call, calling by the letter not the intent of the rule kind of thing. In the last minute of a tied Stanley cup final game that was an absurd call

@@Kanders190 Ya. 'Cause people pay to watch the refs decide series and the Cup. Meanwhile, 2nd degree murder can be attempted at times and their whistles are in their pockets. Give me a break. Plus, even at .5 speed it wasn't an obvious penalty!! His skate barely touched. On purpose? Perhaps but certainly not definitive enough to tip the scales on the entire season.

@@djsmith2871 ok so by your standards, somebody could pull a McSorely and it shouldn’t be called or else it’s the refs “deciding the game” Refs don’t decide the game by calling penalties by the rules, the players decided the game by breaking said rules. Barkov didn't even touch him. Forsling's skate hit Stephenson's by accident. Under a minute to go on a game that could decide who wins the Stanley Cup, it was a very questionable ruling by the refs to give a penalty for that. Honestly, they kinda botched it anyway. They called it on Barkov initially. Thought he got his stick in there. They must have reviewed it and then changed the call to forsling. Barkov being there with his stick nearby, combined with the way the Vegas player went down, it really looks like an obvious trip. If Barkov wasn’t there making it look worse than it was, I say they let that one go. Just bad luck is all I’m saying.

Paul Maurice in his post game interview was asked if Tkachuk missed time because he was in Concussion Protocol and Maurice said yes. Stephenson tripped on his own skates making a cut inward. Even the TNT Analysts said it wasn't the right call. Bob had an excellent game for sure, while Hill did not! Giving up 3 goals on 23 shots, which amounts to an .870 SV% is not a good goaltending performance. Two of the goals on Hill were on long shots and on the Tkachuk goal Hill was caught out of position making the first save and Tkachuk putting in an open net easy rebound. Hill did not handle the road pressure well enough despite what the score shows being close. Bob stepped up big time and Hill might have reverted back to being the platoon/backup goalie that he really is. Panthers should have lost this game, but they have the IT Factor which they have shown many times throughout these playoffs that can not be measured by any stats. Side Note: In Bruce Cassidy's post game interview, he looked flustered/kind of stunned that his team couldn't hold the 2-1 lead to take a 3-0 series lead.

u cant review penalties as a ref, nor can you slow the game down. You have to use ur best judgement, and if someone gets "tripped" or clipped with a skate at high speed and falls down the ref is going to call that every single time, like if the skate is near someone who got tripped its going to get called 99% of the time unless the ref is right next to the play and can clearly see it was clean.

The whiplash on the tkachuk hit could have been a concussion. A concussion happens when the brain hits the insides of the skull and the way the hit happened its crealy possible that it could have happened. He wasn’t ready for it at all so his body being « moved » by the hit could have hit the brain that could have not followed the rest of his body at the same speed. Its especially concerning because of the way he fell right after trying to get back up from the hit and that he didn’t seem like himself for the rest of the game. When people look at a tripping called, they need to forget what they see in the replay because the refs can’t do a slow Mo replay in their head. They have to make a call at full speed and at full speed it looks like a trip

From my understanding, whiplash cannot cause a concussion (in the event that your neck snapping back does not make contact with a solid surface). What whiplash can do is hyperextend your muscles, and this can lead to a devastating muscular injury to the neck region. I AM NOT A DOCTOR and this is not an expert opinion.

Please include a citation regarding the comment in your video about the accidental trip rule. I've played hockey for close to 30 years and every level including one just below the NHL. And as frustrating as it can be, if your skate or stick manage to trip an opposing player (especially the puck carrier) and the ref determines that is in fact what happened, intention is absolutely irrelevant.
@pennyd.3651
@pennyd.3651 10 ай бұрын
That's not true at all because if a player's skate is in your way AND you initiate contact into said skate and intentionally trip yourself, that's not tripping. Wayne fucking Gretzky said that was a terrible call, bucko you're nothing in comparison.

"I don't know. I'm not a doctor." I'm old. Trust me. Doctors don't know. They just think they do. Doctors are the people who officially had a policy to recommend smoking through the 50s after it was proven to cause cancer in 1951. They very strongly opposed breast feeding through 1960 up until 1981 when women were being arrested for breast feeding in shopping malls and libraries. I remember that like yesterday. The doctors and cops went mental. Then the doctors tried to have laws created to make everyone take statins beginning at 6 weeks of age. The only reason we even have doctors is because Rockefeller paid for a study called the Flexner Report. In 1911 Rockefeller greased some hands in Congress and it was made law. At that time medical doctors treated people by blood letting and injecting them with mercury or lead to displace disease. And this was safer then quack medicine? Then in Germany 20 years before WWII, medical doctors began doing horrific experiments on disabled adults. When they were all dead they moved on to disable children. Then visible minority adults and finally visible minority children. Fortunately for doctors and science itself WWII started right at the time they'd killed everybody else. No joke. The Holocaust was planned, organized and executed by medical doctors. Now do you see why history gets distorted so much? It's like this with most everything. Remember this when your doctor is recommending some stupid stuff. Reality is too complicated for them.

That was an absolutely WEAK call, and if it were Vegas who committed that trip, it wouldn't have been called. Florida is just being called for everything. Every little thing. Blatant penalties, and tic tac calls. It's honestly been hard to watch, and if Vegas wins, that's all anyone is going to talk about. Like always. The officials are making bad calls at crucial points in the game, and it's just getting old. It's not WHY vegas is winning, nor why the Cats are losing, but it's certainly not helping Florida, and it's frustrating to watch. Just the inconsistency, and seriously, it feels like the Panthers have to play 100% clean all game, otherwise they get a penalty, where Vegas is getting away with a lot, and only the most blatant stuff is being called on them.
