While I am disappointed that there isn't a hard mode and/or some Super Bosses that are step ups from Bonetail. But I am still buying this game on day one simply because we all absolutely need to give Nintendo the memo that this is the style of Paper Mario we all want to see going forward.

@ryanunknown4181 got into it little by little. I didn't do my ps1 library until ps3, so specifically speaking I used a soft modded backwards compatible ps3. Using custom firmware I got it to "see" an external 2 TB ntfs ssd from there I backed up everything I had ps1 ps2 and ps3, 1 by 1. For GameCube and wii I used a softmodded wii. Same applies for wii u ,Ds and 3DS, Psp is fairly simple and ps vita is expensive but also simple the price point comes from the memory card. For n64 and gb gbc and gba you have to buy some kind of cart dumper.

Reviewers are the biggest liars online. They pretend they like beat games twice as fast as humanly possible and I guarantee half of them don’t finish the game.

@@BrainWasherAttendent They don't have to. They might get a week for a huge RPG that they have to play and review after their usual work hours. They also get spreadsheets about what they can and can't talk about.

Even as a remake, below an 8 is a bias review. I don’t think a remake can ever get a 10, but this game just has too much going right to get below an 8.5.

After thoroughly enjoying the SMRPG remaster, I was immediately sold on this one. The frame rate capped at 30fps is something I wish was improved, but given the type of game this happens to be, It's frankly not a deal breaker for me.

I have played the opening 5 minutes and I have 2 nitpicks. No option to change to original music (I am excited to hear the new arrangements, but I would have liked the option to feel the nostalgia of the original and also compare and contrast). 2nd nitpick - I wish they had made it possible to shut off the character "voices" during dialogue. I find those sound effects very grating.

For your first nitpick, there’s a badge you get about 5 hours-ish into the game that lets you listen to the original score. I don’t know what to tell you about that 2nd nitpick tho

for a game such as this. do one actually notice 60 fps vs 30. it's a slower paced game anyway. i don't get the hate for 30fps all the time. if you got a slower movie paced game locked at 30. it really never bothered me. weren't games like god of war 2016 and uncharted 4 ,30fps??.

Early copies of people that do reviews for websites. These are the people that get games before people to have reviews. A game is always mastered months in advance.

I remember you this game being slower and not as good as the N64 game. I’m surprised everyone seems to think it’s the best one in the series. I’m excited to revisit it.

I unfortunately played this after the first two Mario and Luigi RPG's which are better games, in my opinion, but I enjoyed the hell out of the original Thousand Year Door when I got a GameCube back then, actually bought the game with the console. It does become a slog at the last half, with all the backtracking that always put it lower than other Mario RPG games especially games like Bowser's Inside Story and the first N64 Paper Mario. I honestly couldn't finish a second playthrough years later when I replayed it on the Wii because of all the backtracking. It seems this remake mitigates some of that, so I'll definitely be getting this. Despite it not being my personal favorite Mario RPG, it's still a great game

I'm glad there isn't some big issue with the game, and that it's good. 30fps is too bad, but being a slow rpg, I don't think it's the biggest deal

I watched some of the reviews and the thing that stood out the most is the dialogue changes. Especially concerning Vivian, it's probably gonna be called "woke trash" because of it, but I don't care. I now trust Nintendo more with a Xenoblade X re-release.

To be honest with the 60fps, the resolution would have to be 480p aka pixelated edges everywhere. Emulation is where those types are shooting from, and why it’s not flying as a criticism this time around.

Only problem I have so far with the remaster is text speed. Why take out the ability to speed it up? Gets real tedious and slows momentum, especially when you don’t have time to sit down and play for long stretches of time. I know I’m not the only adult with a job and 2 young kids trying to find time reconnect with my younger gamer self

Some people are more sensitive* to low frame rates regardless of any "pampering". Not only that, but older Nintendo systems handled 60 fps going as far back as the NES. The sudden drop when you are used to a higher frame rate is jarring. *For such people 30 FPS looks like stop motion animation. I can't handle anything below 24 FPS because it gives me a headache.

You fail to realize that while it did run at 60fps on gamecube, it was because the game ran at a resolution of 480p and wasn't as demanding as this remake, but even then the gamecube didnt run it perfectly as it would still drop frames from time to time Honestly, a stable 30fps is WAY better than an unstable 60fps
