PARGA, GREECE - Traditional Greek Food at Taverna Apagkio in Parga Town

Parga Attractions. During an afternoon of exploring the backstreets of Parga, Greece we stumbled upon this cozy Greek Taverna offering delicious Traditional Greek Food. Taverna Apagkio is located in the center of Parga Town close to the harbour and up a little alley. We visited this Greek Taverna once and very much enjoyed the Traditional Greek Foods that we were served. The hospitality of the owner, Georgios Desyllas, was warm and welcoming and the atmosphere was authentic. Upon arriving we were served a complimentary Ouzo (Ούζο) to sip on while we studied the Menu which offered a good selection of Traditional Greek Dishes. We chose to have some Greek Seafood Dishes which included Fried Calamari Rings (Καλαμαράκια τηγανητά), Prawn Saganaki (Γαρίδες σαγανάκι), Fried Anchovies (Γαύρος) and of course a Greek Salad (Χωριάτικη σαλάτα), some bread and house wine (Κρασί του σπιτιού). These Greek Foods were very tasty and we can highly recommend a visit to Taverna Apagkio for authentic Traditional Greek Food when you visit Parga in Greece.

That looks like a great resort/town. Not over developed. Love cosy little ally ways with bars and shops. Last went to Greece in 97 to Rhodes.

Hi there Nigel, thanks for watching! Parga, was a huge surprise, we loved it there and will not hesitate to go back or recommend it as a place to spend a summer holiday! Maxi was in Rhodes in 1995, stayed in Faliraki (just outside Rhodes) but was not impressed. Have a good day :-D

We went Yesterday to Apakgio. The food is just amazing and the staff is great. We will go there again in about 2 hours 😋🤣 Parga is just amazing !

Good morning Kieron! Thanks for watching and for sharing your opinions of Parga! We were so happy that we discovered Parga and have so many good memories from last years trip! It was so good that if Asia does not open up this summer, we may just visit again ;-) We can VERY HIGHLY recommend Parga as a European Summer Holiday Destination for people around our (Maxi and Maro) ages. Parga is NOT a party town for the young, they would be disappointed - very few nightclubs, maybe only one ;-) Have a good day Kieron and Mags! P.S. Another good looking Greek Taverna, Greek salads always look the best to me. The tables layout was good as well plus enjoyed watching the whole alive seen in Parga. The music resonated quite well with the video theme. Enjoyed watching it and have a good rest of your day.

Parga was a beautiful place and we hope to bring a few more videos in the future to show that! Thanks for another great food video. You guys certainly find the best Tavernas in Parga it looks like. I agree with Maxi, meat AND seafood for me as well! I also don't really like anchovies, but a Portuguese friend has a way of doing them that makes them very tasty.

We were lucky that all the places we visited were very good! We can understand that the Greeks have a very high standard when it come to food served when they are eating out, which means that the standard is probably good at all or most restaurants! Love Greek food but not seafood I’m afraid. Nothing with eyes and tentacles lol. Love the salad and feta cheese. So much tastier than British salad.

Were just at the restaurant yesterday (here in Parga Greece). On the menu was written Prawns, so asked waiter who confirmed that they are indeed Prawns ;-) Either way the dish is delicious ;-)
