Dancers usually know it as faster country dance. There are some videos on KZfaq of that version. We wanted to do it more noble.

Beautiful! ❤❤❤ I felt transported back in time. Just one question: apart from Playford, are there other earlier sources for this music? I believe Playford wrote down music which may have been used already by generations of dancers, however the costumes used are from the renaissance, some decades before Playford published his dancing master. Just wondering about differences in eras, that’s all.

Thank you! One of the earliest sources for this melody is Michael Praetorius’s Terpsichore (published in 1612). The tune was called La Bouree.
