Hi Taryl. Im 61, 50 years ago i had the same engine on my first mini bike. I unhooked the governer. About one week and blew the rod thru the block. Patched the block with copper sheet, pop rivets, and liquid steel. New rod, ran great. revved up yooper. P.S. eventually blew another rod so i up graded to a 5 hp tecumseh. Nice video, i love them all. No Porch Pirates where i live, ( way out in Gods country)

Taryl, Just want to thank you for your very informative video packed with good practical information in rebuilding small engines. I am rebuilding an HH 60 and your video provided me with gret details not mentioned in the modern manual I found and I was able to get the torque specs for the connecting rod bolts from your book when you showed a screen shot. That spec is left out of the updated manual along with several other things you mentioned. So thank you very much. You and your expertise is greatly appreciated. As well as your humor.

Thanks so much for your "how to" videos, Taryl. Thanks to this one, I successfully rebuilt an old Sears Craftsman "Roto-Spader" with a LAV35 Tecumish from 1978! It was my father's so there's a little sentimental value, as I got the gardening bug from him, and that old tiller has been running for all these years, albeit it was overdo for a rebuild. Probably not worth the $100+ that I put into it, but for me it was. Your videos are clear and easy to follow, very well done! I love your comedic style as well, what more to say?! Thanks again!

Thanks to you Taryl, I rebuilt a H35 for a friend. Only had Sears model and serial numbers, could not figure out the Year. Did some interscreen, found H35 1982 and prior has 1.844" stroke @ 65 degrees BTDC, H35 1983 and later has 1.928" stroke @ 35 degrees timing. This engine measured the 1.844" stroke, Purrrrs like a kitten at the 65 Degree timing!

A Pro Tip on making your gaskets last for multiple removal and reinstall cycles is to lightly coat them with bearing grease, both sides, so they can be removed over and over again and save you from wasting gaskets when you just need to make some minor adjustments. A lot of these paper-composite gaskets become permanent (bonded) once they're installed and when you take something off, the gasket disintegrates or splits in two, with half of the material on one piece and half on the other. Technique is probably most helpful for the carburetor gasket because the carb gets a lot of attention maintenance-wise
