Excellent work. I was impressed on the first video when you said you'd just straightened the connecting rods - they're always something that have defeated me.

I found the same this week with trying to learn how to use Tinkercad. Went round and round in circles (not literally) for hours. Gave up at silly o'clock. Next morning it was easy! Glad you have solved it. Take care. Learn your lesson. Look after that eye. 😀

Hi Graham, very informative video of a loco dcc upgrade, I have a Hornby loco I might fit a decoder to at some stage this year, I will fit a flickering firebox and some directional lighting via the front and rear lamps, you are very correct regarding those unsightly large ‘D’ for dreadful tension lock couplings Hornby fit to their models, I removed the ones fitted to my city link wagons last year, yet again Hornby fitting these items to rollingstock and it shows how far behind they compared to other manufacturers, they still fit 8 pin dcc sockets, Hornby rant over, thanks for sharing.

Hey, considering what you are fighting and the difficulty of looking down at the work... that you got it in just two goes is another testament to your brilliance. Can't be mad at yourself for trying when maybe you should not have... oh, a lesson I need to teach myself too often. Well done and great loco!!

I agree Graham if things start to not go to plan leave it and have a break or better still sleep on it, it's surprising how fresh thoughts come into your head. I must admit I love tinkering around with my locos fitting sound, lights, firebox flicker and extra pickups. It's great to see your Evening Star bought back to life ,great video keep modeling. Cheers Grahame

Looks great. It can take a lot of strength on a job to say “this isn’t working, walk away and I’ll come back tomorrow.” Also how often does a logical shortcut turn out to be the long way round!?
