I totally agree with Mr.Lofton I think that would have been a good opening scene especially as it was established already that not all of the borg technology can be removed from his body and that would obviously be a traumatic thing to deal with.

I thought the mud wrestling scene was very effective, if a bit corny. It transitioned nicely into the scene where Picard reveals the extent of his PTSD about the Borg.

Good lord was that really all that occurred to you man; to critique the wrestling? Brothers come to blows; it's a pretty common thing-- and yes they look like old men because they *ARE old men*, strangely enough... but good grief this was a very engaging well-written episode that FINALLY gave Patrick FREAKIN Stewart the chance to use the full range of his gifts on the show and added SSOOO much to the character of Picard and contextualizing and humanzing that stodgy cardboard cutout he was at the beginning of the series.., but I guess if it doesn't have photon torpedos and laser beams and explosions it's difficult to hold some people's interest. This was also a wonderful episode for Michael D and Worf as well; of course when I was a child I didn't appreciate it but as soon as I was old enough to go back and watch it as a teenager it knocked my socks off and it portends and acts as a proof of concept for sssooooo much of what we love about Deep Space Nine which is real serious character-drama.
