Baba Din Muhammad tells his partition story. He migrated from Panjawa, Muktsar to Tehi Javind Singh, Pakpattan.
Panjawa was a muslim majority village with few hindus. In 1947, it was attacked and many were killed there. People had to flee. Families were disperesed to be united after years or some got separated for ever. There was a great loss of lives, relationships and properties.
Baba Din Muhammad recalls those days with tears in his eyes. He cannot talk when he tells about his phupha (uncle) Boola who was sick and bed-ridden and had to leave him lying on the cot. He sighs and utters, 'they must have killed Boola'. Boola was a renowned wrestler of his time. He remained unbeaten in 84 kushti fights.
Some other persons of Panjawa were also left there. Women were abducted. Later after few years some of them were brought to Pakistan.
Sardar Jay Singh of neighboring village Badal, assisted in finding out muslim girls left behind and made arrangements to send them to their families in Pakistan. He sent almost on hundred girls to Pakistan.
