Reiner Klimke with Ahlerich, Margit Otto Crepin with Corlandus and Christine Stuckelberger with Gaugin de Lully perform a fabulous Pas de Trois.
This video comes from my old video tape as well. Unfortunately there is some damage as you can see. It is a very big upload so if you are concerned please chose the lower setting to watch.

Every time I watch this, I am thrilled. It reminds me that there really were good old days when the top placed competition riders and horses were classically trained and the audiences were proud to see that work in demonstrations like this. Which were common at the time. Sad that work like this would no longer earn the high places it deserves.

Ok, now I'm at the end! How they stand still with the crowd going wild. Show me one horse today being so chill within themselves. Today, it's just stressed out beings. Also the music was so fitting!

These horses were still in balance, both physically and mentally. Modern horse breeding and modern riding are going in the wrong direction. Horses are no longer trained to stay healthy with a rider on their backs, but to support the rider's egoism as spectacularly as possible.

This comes across like classical music. The equestrian world has changed so much... For the worse unfortunately. What remains is that horses are still alive beings, that are dragged to do stuff for us. These horses back then came across so much more chill and highly trained & and not pushed to perform because they sold for millions. Oh man.

"In der Reiterei hat sich viel verändert - unglücklicherweise zum Schlechten." Nicht nur - Ursula Bruns (50 Jahre "Pony-Post"/"Freizeit im Sattel", Immenhof-Filme) hat - zumindest in der Freizeitreiterei, die 95 % ausmacht - die Offenstall- bzw. Herdenhaltung in Deutschland publik und damit viele Pferde glücklich gemacht.

Amazing. Finally dressage on youtube, where the horse is actually in collection, the head and neck aren't overly bent, the strides are even, there's no crank and spank trapping the horse between seat and hand, no rider banging the horses back or flopping up and down, etc. Graceful, balanced, harmonious, and beautiful. Proper dressage builds a horses body while fake dressage maims and kills horses.

Charlotte Dujardin rides like this as well. I'm glad she won Olympics and surpassed Isabelle Werth who uses the "low and deep" method to train her horses. ❤️ Ingrid Klimke is a very good rider as well. She's Reiner's daughter. He also was very soft rider and trainer. He won Olympics I think 6 times. If you want to see another nice dressage then watch for example Charlotte and Valegro. There is also a video with their warming up and it's a really nice proof to see she is really nice to horses she trains. ❤️

@@janiczkahell Charlotte is amazing, her riding is wonderfull. Ingrid Klimke has won pretty much all there is to win in Eventing. She's also around in Dressage, but generally more in Eventing I believe... she's currently riding the amazing stallion Franziskus in grand prix Dressage and got the two of them a place on the german Olympic Team. Honestly, she's one of my favorite professionell equestrians. As the daughter of the great Dr Rainer Klimke, she definately learned from the best - and it shows. We really need to go back to proper training and horsemanship and score accordingly. I can't believe someone like Isabell Werth gets the scores she does... her horses look horrible.

Lovely video. Thanks for sharing. Always loved Corlandus. Years ago, I was asked to ride a Gaugin de Lully son who had hurt his owner. He was out of a TB mare and would go from quiet to explosive with no warning. On the 5th ride, he put me into a wall hip first. He then went to a round-pen trainer. Did great in the round pen, but ended up throwing his owner in the arena and kicking her in the head on her way down.Thankfully she had a helmet on and survived with no serious damage. She sold!

The Germans were unbeatable in these times . What can be said that has not already been said. Just quite breath-taking. It does help that riders are so tall. Short, dumpy bodies can never aspire to this level and standard of GP. I know, I am short and could never be as good as these wonderful riders, even if I had the best horse in the world and hours of training. Lucky them!! What year was this?
