There is an easier option to disconnect the front wheels. Disassemble the central differential (Torsen II), and cut the planet gears into half of the length. Welding the rear shaft torque output gear with the planet gears and the casing of the Torsen II central differential. Put them back. Job done!

I want to swap 4motion (1.9tdi 96kw) with trans to golf mk3 with 1.8t so i know i need syncro rear axles hubs and arms but what do i need to do with floor pan to fit mk4 4motion system and if u are asking why diesel transsmison it is cuz longer gears 😉
