Is Young Don correct in his assessment of the free grace teaching regarding salvation? Pastor Jesse uses scripture to give a defense of the truth. This is not to degrade the man, but we desire to point out the flaw in his teaching

The problem with these people, like the reformed and Calvinsts is that they see Grace as a doctrine, and that is a huge error. Grace is the entire core of the gospel, Grace is Jesus Christ Himself, the very essence of God Even the biblical cannon in Revelation ends with John praying for Jesus's grace to be with us

I tell people, if you are discussing your eternal salvation and your works enter into the conversation at any point, you've gone too far. Works are for discipleship and rewards, don't discuss them around the fact of your salvation. How am I saved? I believe in Jesus. How do I know that I'm saved? I still believe Jesus. If I look to my works as proof, I am doing a "trust but verify" on the Son of God, which is NOT believing in His promise.

It seems you’re describing the P in Calvinism which falsely suggests that someone must persevere in belief and good works to enter the kingdom of god… Thankfully we know from the abundantly clear scriptures such as John 3:16, 3:36, 5:24… eph 2:8-9 and so so many others that belief means “persuaded of a truth” and the truth we must believe is Gods promise that “whosoever believes, will not perish, and has everlasting life” That’s the gospel!

@@Rileyed Im sorry but that is not the gospel, its pretty clear eternal life is a gift to recieve not our reward to earn, i agree that we should be intimate with God, but we need to know the difference between service and salvation, because if your way is correct then that contradicts many scriptures and books, its important to not take things out of context and again, know the difference between salvation and service, The many definitions of grace in the bible makes it clear that its a gift, and has power over all sins, I ask to just think about it is all, good day.

I have to admit that when I got saved, Shamefully on my part that instead of opening the bible and finding out for myself what God says. I turned to KZfaq because I was naive to think that everyone representing and teaching Gods word was of God... But I found out the Hard way that not everyone was representing Gods truth.... But those who were, were they that believed the Gospel of 1 Corinthians 15:1-6 and I only needed to read 1 Corinthians 1:17-31 / Romans 3:20-26 / Eph 1:13-14/ 2 Thess 2:13-14 / 1 Peter 1:2 to see that when we believe God takes Satans hands away so the Scripture becomes clearer 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 / 2 Timothy 2:25-26/ and as I rightly divide Gods truth 2 Timothy 2:15. I begin to learn and see what's for me today and how to live in my dual nature (Feeding and walking in the Spirit Gal 5) until the rapture when I no more will have to deal with this sinful flesh.

The fact he is using the ESV is very telling given it’s Calvinistic lean of how some scriptures were revised. Great explanation of our security in Christ for our salvation and how we can choose to live in our old ( shouldn’t) or new man ( should) and yet still be eternally secure. It brings such peace to rest in and on Christ and not my wayward self. I’ve heard Calvinists explain that practicing sin is habitually committing the same sins over and over vs merely “occasionally”committing sin. If a person occasionally ie “ not consistently” lies , occasionally has an impure thought , occasionally cusses yet another person DAILY ie “ habitually” cusses , lies, looks at adult content etc then there’s this presumed difference, yet sin no matter how often it’s committed is still sin , it misses the mark and all of it was paid for at the cross. Our flesh is what sins and it doesn’t matter if it’s habitual or occasional as in both instances the flesh is overriding the Spirit by our choices. Of course we should work on changing our sinful ways no matter how much of them there are as it does grieve God and likely sears our conscience so that we are less attuned to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. But we are sealed by His one time Work and faithfulness , not our PRESUMED increased good deeds and lack of sinning.

@@lmnoph Yes. Because James 2:10. There is no difference between sinning once and “living a life of sin” (whatever that looks like). If you break one law you are guilty of all. The righteousness of God is without the law unto all and upon all them that believe. If salvation is conditioned upon the way you live (thou shalt, thou shalt not), salvation is conditioned upon the works of the law. You would also be able to boast in your good works getting you to Heaven. “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” James 2:10 KJV “But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” Romans 3:21-23 KJV “Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.” Galatians 2:16 KJV

@randyd9805 2 ай бұрын
@@lmnoph The Bible is crystal clear in Romans 4 that if you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ you become a "Blessed man". (see Romans 4:8) Why? Because God can no longer EVER impute or credit any sins to your account because ALL of your sins have been recorded, credited, or imputed to Christ and God as your judge has reasoned that ALL of your sins were paid for on the cross by the payment that Jesus made for us. That is what salvation by grace is all about. God justifies the believing sinner on the basis that Christ bore ALL our sins on the cross and shed His innocent blood for every sin you ever have or ever will commit. If Jesus failed to pay for just ONE of your sins and you were to die with just ONE SIN still on your record in heaven, God would have no choice to send you to hell forever. If Jesus didn't pay for ALL of your sins past, present, and future you are not one of the "Blessed men" and God is still imputing or crediting your sins to YOU and not to Christ. Don't take my word for it. Read Romans 4 very carefully. So, can a Christian, a real believer continue to sin and still be saved and go to heaven? Yes, they absolutely can. The requirement by God is not for you to be sinless to get to heaven but for you to believe in Christ who has paid for all your sins. This is how God justifies the believing sinner by grace through faith in the atoning work of His Son who is the only totally sinless Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. If you really want to understand this and how we should act as believers read Romans chapters 4 through 6 carefully. Notice carefully what it says in Romans 6:1. "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

1 Corinthians 3 is usually where we point with regard to rewards at the judgment seat of Christ. We do believe there is different reward with regard to the millennial kingdom, but we reject any notion of a believer being cast out (gnashing teeth, suffering 1000 years). That latter teaching is a misunderstanding of many parables. If a believer dies right after believing in Christ, then he will have eternal life. He will be with Christ, and we will see him one day. I am unsure what his reward status would look like - if you could call it that. We know that whatever the difference, it will be without sin. - Trent

Jessie think about this. The corinthians WERE acting in those sins at the time that letter was written as the whole reason it was written was that they were carnal. This points even more to the duality of man. Because obviously they were currently actibg in that sin yet they were said to be sanctified and cleansed BY the holy spirit. Paul is saying it matter of factly that they have been cleansed so why would you continue to act in the old man. Crazy

What then if we at some time in the past believed in the Person and finished work of Jesus Christ to save us eternally BUT our view of eternally was not what the Bible's or God's view of eternity? What if our faith in Christ alone at the point of our belief was like the morning dew? What if because of adversity or sickness as our bodies aged we began to experience the "tortures of the damned" in them? What then happens when our pain and suffering in this life begins to speak to us FAR LOUDER than the faith and assurance and trust in God we once had? is this sort of like the foolish virgins that did not take enough oil with them to get them through the dark nights of the soul? I have gone through many days of dark nights of the soul then at one time came out with all kinds of assurance which lasted for decades then after having sinned a particular sin lost the joy and the peace of assurance which at one time was absolutely fantastic that resulted in first simply lifted off my life painlessly feeling the blahs then over time slowly sinking again into another dark night of the soul.

1 JOHN 3:8-9 *KJV* He that *committeth sin* is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God *doth not commit sin;* for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 1 john 3:8-9 esv Whoever makes a *practice of sinning* is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one born of God makes a *practice of sinning,* for God's[b] seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. Young Don is quoting a CORRUPT "bible." "Practice sin" or COMMIT SIN? Either you have sin or you do not! 1 Cor. 15:2 *KJV* By which also *ye are saved,* if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 1 cor. 15:2 esv 15 Now I would remind you, brothers,[a] of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, 2 and by which *you are being saved,* if you hold fast to the word I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. "Saved" in verse 2 of 1 Corinthians 15 is referring to JUSTIFICATION. You are JUSTIFIED by trusting the gospel. You are reckoned righteousness. Justification is NOT A PROCESS. The esv states that you are BEING JUSTIFIED by the gospel, which is heresy.

The ESV and many other modern translations get verses like First John 3:7-9 WRONG. "Practice of sinning" and "cannot keep on sinning" are not good translations. They contradict the clear meaning of scripture to make this passage mean something it does not mean. God's word CANNOT contradict itself, but this translation contradicts the rest of the Bible.

‭Romans 10:1-4 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Paul wrote this about Israel, talking about how they did have zeal of God, but it was in ignorance, not with right knowledge. They were going around trying to make up their own righteousness by works of the law and it would never work. Christ satisfies the demand of the law for everyone who believes on him. But the pride and dead works of the Jews kept them from coming to Christ. But I fear this refers to most people in American churches today. Many, many Americans are very well-meaning people. They live good enough to stay out of trouble. The more I look into things, the more clear it is how subtle Satan has become within the religious circles, to give people false security. What does the bible say someone must do to be saved? Terms differ depending on the passage, but the invariable condition is belief/faith/trust in Jesus Christ, who died for all sinners, paying our sin debt with his blood. The flipside of that condition is repentance, which is turning FROM any other false religion or system or assumption, TO Christ. John 3:14-18. John 3:36. John 5:24. John 6:27-47. John 11:25. Acts 10:43. Acts 13:39. Acts 16:31. Romans 3:21-28. Romans 4:4-25. Romans 10:9-13. Galatians 2:16. Ephesians 2:8-9. And many, many more! But then what do we have? We have church after church and religious figure after religious figure using other terms which are nowhere in scripture. When you listen to reels of "Christian content on youtube, Facebook, or instagram, all of them use corrupt new Bible versions, and very misleading religious terms for salvation that the Bible never uses. How about these... Ask Jesus into your heart. Give your heart to Jesus. Give your life to Jesus. Commit your life to Christ. Repent of your sins. Make Jesus the Lord of your life. Follow Jesus. Literally anything but believe on the Lord Jesus. You know, the condition the Bible actually says! Some of these are mentioned as things for Christians to do after they're saved, but NEVER does the Bible mention any of these things as conditions to GET saved. Judas followed Jesus for 3 years.... but never believed on him (John 6:64). And yet, they're used so often! Most people you talk to, who claim to be Christians, when you ask further questions... they'll bring up things like a good moral life, church membership, etc etc as reasons for being a Christian. It's so sad. I think this is one of Satan's greatest deception. It's not Joel Osteen's church to lead all the people with itching ears away, though that is a big deception for many. It's not the insane religions like Mormonism or buddhism. I think his biggest deception is right in Christian circles - people who claim the name of Christ, but they add to his work, and leaven the lump with religious terms the bible never uses. John MacArthur preached where he made a super complicated difficult gospel with multiple conditions, saying salvation is super costly. Whoa, thought it was a free gift? Then, knowing many would say that's works salvation, he quickly said "well no, it's still grace, but working in you".... etc etc. The catholic church even said MacArthur is right! Hey, that ought to wake him up, the moment a catholic agrees with him! Many youtube influences make salvation a gospel of faith AND works, insisting both are necessary, frontloading the works. But hmm... what sayeth the scripture? ‭Romans 11:6 KJV‬ And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. Others may refute frontloading the works but then backload them instead, by saying it's "faith THAT works". Many have said "well faith alone saves, but if you truly have faith, it will not be alone." Then how is it faith alone to begin with, idiot?! It's pure doubletalk, speaking out both sides of their mouth. It amazes me how so few actually see through this. Satan has so many deceived by subtly sneaking a little leaven into the lump. Billy Graham did just that. I think this is the main point of Matthew 7:21-23... those tragic moments when people come to Jesus saying "Lord Lord" and he says depart from me. I fear many many church members coming before him with their works. "Lord Lord, did I not keep the law well? Did I not turn from my sins? Did I not give you my life? Did I not ask you into my heart?" All those things he never said to do. Only religion said to. But those who come, having simply believed on Him as their savior, he knows them and will never turn them away... and the more I hear people's stances, the more I wonder just how many good people in good churches are still outside of christ because they made it too complicated, adding too many conditions, and leaving out the one condition in the bible, that is, faith. We need to keep this trick of Satan in our sights to be ready anytime. ‭Philippians 3:9 KJV‬ And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

What about 2 Timothy 2:12? If we deny Him, He will deny us. Are you saying a person who accepts Christ, or believes momentarily will receive eternal life even if they quit believing and deny Him for a majority of the remainder of their life? And if they do, then wouldn't God be showing Himself as unfaithful, since if that person goes on to deny Him, He will not actually deny that person?

2 Timothy 2:12 is referring to kingdom reigning with Christ. We as believers receive rewards in the kingdom for faithfulness to Christ. The denial is not contextually a denial of salvation. The next verse even further clarifies that we can stop believing, and he abides faithful in that he cannot deny himself. We are sealed with the spirit and born of God, and God cannot deny that. - Trent

@@BibleLine How can you say that verse 12 is referring to "rewards" but that verse 13 is referring to salvation? This is one of the biggest problems I see with the OSAS camp. Anytime a text refutes what they believe, it either isn't for the church, it's not referring to salvation, or it's not in proper context, often times accusing the one contesting them of not understanding how to "properly divide" the Word of Truth. The denial may not be a denial of salvation, but that's not what is required for God to deny us according to the verse. If we deny Him...ie "God I wanted to believe in You, but all this wickedness and all the trouble I've been through, I KNOW You aren't real! And if You were I would want to follow you anyway!" That is a denial of the Father, and according to this verse, if He is to remain faithful to His nature and who He is, He would in turn HAVE TO deny us if we don't repent and return to Him before we pass. Respectfully, I am not trying to come across as arguing for the sake of arguing. I just believe that we must continue to believe in Christ, and that in doing so, it is no less a work than believing in Him for a moment of time. I also believe that once a person KNOWS God is real, because they have encountered Him, when they have tasted of His goodness and have become Born Again, that the Spirit within them will continually draw them to deeper relationship with the Father. As an example, for me personally, I would have said I believed in Jesus when I was in my 20's, but I was living like a devil. Nobody would have ever guessed that I was a Christian by the way I behaved, talked or treated others. I truly believe had I died in that state I would have been separated from God forever. Thankfully, He remained faithful to who He is and He answered my Nana's prayers for me to be saved(the fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much). And when I was 34 I truly became Born Again, filled with His Spirit and at this point have seen too much of Him to EVER deny Him. If the world exploded around me and I lost everyone I love, I could not deny His existence, because I KNOW He is who He claims to be, who His Word says He is. Now that's not to say someone at the end of their life can't pray in their final moments and cry out for God to have mercy on them and fully expect that God will hear their cry(ie the thief on the cross), but if God's grace allows for that person to live, I do believe that if they were to go right back to their life of debauchery and die in that place, they would be separated from God. We know that God looks on the heart and not the outside appearance, so how can we say if our hearts have grown cold toward God, He will still receive us as one of His own? Who does that benefit except all who have said a prayer at one time in their life and went on to continually live a life of sin, completely displeasing to God? And if that the case, it is truly no benefit to them at all because they are never compelled by other believers to live differently. We are implored to spur one another on to love and good works. Often times the OSAS camp seems to love the Gospel for salvation but stops there, and doesn't head all the instruction in the Bible for us to live holy and to encourage and help our Brothers and Sisters to do the same. As if to reason Christ came was to get us into Heaven. I believe He came to transform us so that we could represent His Kingdom well on Earth, just as His Son did, just as His Apostles did, and just as His Disciples have done before us. I hope you aren't offended by what I've shared, and this isn't me parroting what I've heard other preachers teaching, this is simply my belief and understanding of Scripture. I'm all about asking people to receive the free gift of God by sharing the Gospel with them, I just think it is extremely irresponsible to do so and not help disciple them once they have confessed belief. Jesus of course didn't command us to get people to accept salvation, He commanded us to "Go. And MAKE disciples." Somehow over time we've turned disciple making into a one time prayer to get to heaven. God Bless you my friend, your family and your ministry. ☝🏻🙏🏻❤️🙌🏻

I took basic and advanced Greek years ago. I believe as you do that "practice of sinning" or "habitual sinning" are bad translations. I have come to believe these are bad translations into English because of the Greek present tense which Greek "scholars" tend to translate this way. I went to a very conservative Baptist college and even the professor there taught us this way of translating the Greek present tense by adding such words as "continue" or "habitual" or "practice" as reasonable additions to the SINGLE WORD SIN. The only reason I know that cannot mean this is because it contradicts the plain meaning of numerous passages of scripture that teach clearly a real believer can sin habitually and they CAN not only PRACTICE sin they can become experts at sin. Seriously though, Christians can be overtaken by their sin nature and CONTINUALLY sin so much so that they NEED others to help them overcome certain sins. Is not this the teaching of Galatians 6:1 " Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault(literally a trespass), ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."? How about James 5:16 "Confess your faults (same word as in Gal. 6:1) one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed." What about James 5:19, 20 which is clearly talking about BRETHREN. "BRETHREN, if any of YOU do err (wander, stray) from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins." The converting here is not of a lost sinner, but of a saved believer who has erred and gone into sin. Do you mean real believers can be overtaken by sin and need help? That is EXACTLY what this passage is saying as well as Galatians 6:1 and other places. The death in this passage is a believer's untimely death as a result of living in sin as is talked about in other New Testament passages.

@@BibleLine The Bible contains several verses that discuss the fear of the LORD (reverential awe and respect for God) and God’s sovereignty to do as He pleases. These verses highlight the majesty, power, and authority of God and emphasize the proper attitude of humility and reverence that believers should have towards Him. Here are some key passages: 1. Proverbs 9:10 (NIV): “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” This verse underscores the importance of the fear of the LORD as the foundation of true wisdom and understanding. Reverential fear of God leads to a right relationship with Him and a proper perspective on life. 2. Psalm 111:10 (NIV): “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.” Similar to Proverbs 9:10, this verse emphasizes that the fear of the LORD is the starting point of wisdom and is connected to obedience to God’s commands. 3. Psalm 115:3 (NIV): “Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.” This verse acknowledges God’s sovereignty and authority over all creation. It highlights that God acts according to His will and purposes, which are ultimately good and just. 4. Isaiah 46:10 (NIV): “I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’” This verse declares God’s omniscience and sovereignty over time and history. God’s purposes are certain and will ultimately be fulfilled according to His will. 5. Psalm 135:6 (NIV): “The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths.” This verse reiterates the comprehensive scope of God’s sovereignty over all creation. He exercises His will and authority over every aspect of the universe. These verses collectively emphasize the fear of the LORD as foundational to wisdom and understanding, and they affirm God’s sovereignty and authority to act according to His divine purposes. Believers are encouraged to approach God with reverence, trust in His wisdom and goodness, and submit to His will knowing that He is in control of all things
