@@ralphowens8346no MATE, Andrew was an actual war hero, he spent 20 years in the military as a search and rescue pilot, flying dangerous missions to deflect the enemy and rescue injured personnel. Harry spent most of his‘service’ in a bunker, his first ‘tour’ lasted about 10 days 😂 before an American journalist outed him and he had to come home. But I understand you have to earn your keep, bless your heart 😂

I don't think the late Queen was able to spend enough quality time with her CHILDREN when they were younger and they have all had their problems. The Late Queen promised William and Catherine that they would have time to raise their children and to do their duties but putting them first because she saw what happens when you don't . 😊 Charles agrees his GRANDCHILDREN come first . 😊

Richard, Duke of Gloucester, the late Queen’s first cousin, was a second son. He was a working architect when his elder brother was killed in an air race accident. When Richard’s father died, he became the Duke, giving up his career to be able to fulfill his royal duties. He and his Duchess have been hard working royals for a very long time, as were his parents before them.

The previous winners make the nominations, so just know that Buzz Aldrin and Sully Sullenberger are the ones who nominated Prince Harry and that ought to be enough to shut you up with your fake complaints. As a Apache pilot, combat veteran and founder of Invictus, Harry is an inspiration to those all over the world. No lie you tell about him or jealous wailing you make will change the fact that he is loved and appreciated all over the globe. Get used to him getting awards, people like him and recognize all his good works. This award can't be bought, it isn't controlled by one person. Nominations were made last July. And yes, Harry is a full Apache helicopter pilot, he got his license in 2012, and he's so good, he can perform stunts. The Apache can be flown from either the front or back seats, and a co-pilot is a full pilot. They have to be able to fly if the lead pilot is wounded or killed while flying. So shut up with your fake complaints and accept that Harry's more popular than William and he always will be. He's Diana's son, William is Charles's son. Shame.

No one could find fault in William and Catherine for putting in less time "at the office" and focusing more on raising their children. After all, they are raising the next dream team for the royal family and doing an amazing job. Previously the Royals were very much absentee parents, away on royal visits overseas for months at a time, travel by sea was and is relatively slow. William and Catherine are very much 'hand on' parents which is much better for their children

Those sons came from both parents. It has been said that Diana remarked that Harry was “thick, like me.” It seems to me that Diana understood the differences between her boys, but she loved them both and tried to impart education and guidance to each for the work that would be needed from them in support of the Monarchy. Just something to think about.

By William and Catherine making sure their Children are emotionally and physically secure and knowing they are loved, ensures a much stronger Royal Family for the future. Their children are the future of the Monarchy! In May 2095 BBC reported that Harry then 20 had become the highest ranking member in Sandhurts. That Wm joined months after Harry. In 2011 Prunce Harry became an Apache helicopter pilot and was promote ti captain. Were they lying back then.

Doesn't mean he can't fly a chopper however. He trained - IN THE USA, TRAINED BY THE US MILITARY - as a gunner in an Apache and that means he also LEARNED TO FLY AN APACHE. You can't be a gunner unless you can also fly the chopper.

The pilot flew the aircraft, Harry aimed and shot. One would think the gunner could fly too in case the actual pilot was disabled. Read the comments please.

I really hope the Princess of Wales is awarded the two honors you discussed. She has done a fantastic job since she joined the royal family. She's warm, friendly, hardworking, intelligent, respectful, and beautiful to boot! What's not to love. Prince William couldn't have done better in choosing Catherine as his life partner and the mother of his children. They are so obviously a genuinely loving couple and family and are a great team. The Invictus games were created by BUCKINGHAM PALACE to try and give Harry something he could do that he would, hopefully, be interested in. Unfortunately he's just using it to promote himself. Harry, on a visit to the U.S., went to the American Warrior Games and was so impressed, he went back to the UK with the idea of copying it for UK veterans. A team of retired British Army veterans, along with Palace officials, and Prince William, created the Invictus Games, based on the American Warrior Games, for which Harry now takes the full credit. It is important to note that Prince William and Catherine, as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, made a huge donation of £1M the Invictus Games, which has never been acknowledged by Harry.

Anne has always been an amazing woman many years ago she was 23 years old and was attacked in a car she told her attacker she wasnt getting out of the bloody car she had a row with him she had 1 guard with her a police officer he got shot in the sholder others helped who also got shot anne was sat in the car with bullets flying shouting at her attacker. @@ritamarshall2644 Exactly! the documentaries which state the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh didn't see their children for period of 3 - 6 months because of duties and tours. You can't make up for lost time with your children and William with his wife Catherine are making sure they don't loose that time and changing peoples perceptions of the family unit. There will come a time when their children have to be in boarding school for the prestige of the academic life etc. It doesn't mean that William or Charles or the rest of the family don't have regrets for knowing how it isolated them from their family unit in ways many of us can't even comprehend.

Sorry for your loss but it isn't. The previous winners make the nominations, so just know that Buzz Aldrin and Sully Sullenberger are the ones who nominated Prince Harry and that ought to be enough to shut you up with your fake complaints. As a Apache pilot, combat veteran and founder of Invictus, Harry is an inspiration to those all over the world. No lie you tell about him or jealous wailing you make will change the fact that he is loved and appreciated all over the globe. Get used to him getting awards, people like him and recognize all his good works. This award can't be bought, it isn't controlled by one person. Nominations were made last July. And yes, Harry is a full Apache helicopter pilot, he got his license in 2012, and he's so good, he can perform stunts. The Apache can be flown from either the front or back seats, and a co-pilot is a full pilot. They have to be able to fly if the lead pilot is wounded or killed while flying. So shut up with your fake complaints and accept that Harry's more popular than William and he always will be. He's Diana's son, William is Charles's son. Shame.

I read the the Sussexes formed their friendship with John Travolta last year and assumed they were running out of mates with private jets, Travolta has his own jet and is a qualified pilot, so it would seem like a perfect two for the price one deal to the Sussexes, and as someone has mentioned John Travolta had danced with Harry's mother, a very emotional heart string to pull.

Could it be that her portrayal in The Crown precipitated some of this? The thing everybody tends to forget about Andrew settling out of court is the timing. It was the beginning of the Queen's platinum jubilee year. I'm sure all of her children were aware of how ill she truly was. I think he settled out of court to take the stress off of his mother. Stress she obviously did not need to be dealing with, especially with Harry's book coming out at about the same time.

That lawsuit (regardless of its actual merits) was the product of very good lawyering. The plaintiff lawyers knew that there was a big party and they intentionally timed the lawsuit to coincide with the Queen's jubilee. They knew that the RF did not want embarrassing distractions on the Queen's big party. They knew Andrew was never going to court and pay off the plaintiff to make her go away. They were banking on this very outcome when they drafted the claim. Having said that, Andrew was a fool for not fighting the case in court. Everybody knows that when you pay a claimant to keep her mouth shut, the payment only attracts other claimants. They know you will not go to court. As for the embarrassment to Her Majesty, sorry to say this but this nasty allegations have the potential to embarrass the Royal Family regardless. As hindsight is always perfect, it did and continue to embarrass the Royal Family. And because this case was never adjudicated properly, it left a large question mark on Andrew, and the Royal Family. Andrew was a coward, and you know what they say about cowards: They die a thousand deaths.

All war experience aside a coward would NOT fall on his sword for his mother and his country as Andrew did, they would try to fight and save their reputation. And never forget, there was only ONE piece of alleged proof and the moment it was requested for expert forensic examination the alleged prostitute somehow managed to lose it (despite having kept it ohhh so safe for a couple of decades, the moment it was challenged in court she ''lost'' it). I believe that the gunner of an Apache helicopter is called a Co-pilot/gunner. As in the gunner can fly the helicopter should the Pilot become injured. I actually saw a video where Harry was interviewed saying he was unable to make it as a Pilot so instead he became a gunner . Now suddenly it is stated that he LED teams of combat in different countries including Australia. I cannot believe Harry is being awarded this award. Harry was protected 24/7 by a team of soldiers to keep him safe from any type of combat or risk. Prince Andrew is more qualified to receive this award. He flew helicopters for 20 years and was in combat in the Falklands War.

The site which states WHY Harry is being awarded this “ Living Legends in Avian”, writes that he saved “civilian lives” as well as people in the military. According to the post Harry was a helicopter pilot in the British Army, and flew training missions in the US, UK and Australia, as well as operational tours in the war in Afghanistan. Harry states in an interview he was unable to become a pilot, so he became a gunner, however a gunner I have since learnt, has to also be a pilot. So how did Harry manage to be a gunner or a “ co-pilot gunner” if he was unable to pass the pilots test in 3 attempts. Harry had a special team of soldiers protecting him at all times. IF he did go anywhere the site was ALWAYS first cleared of all/ any danger, by soldiers BEFORE Harry was permitted to do his training sessions. I did not mean to say he was anywhere in Australia. It was more a case of they are actually giving him this award and state that his war efforts/ army training included tours in Australia. I personally doubt he flew anywhere as he would require to have a pilots license which he does not.

So glad to have you back for the start of 2024. I was particularly impressed, but not hugely surprised, at the image of Princess Anne toting her own carry-on luggage down the steps of a plane. I've always respected her no-nonsense, just get on with it, attitude. She is so fit and has incredible balance for a woman of 73. King Charles is fortunate to have such a staunch and truly capable supporter in his corner.

I feel that Prince Harry's induction reduces the award for those who are more worthy. Compare his flight simulation and co-pilot hours to Fred George, another inductee who served in the US military, flew over 200 different types of aircraft with over 7,700 hours of flight time, was a flight instructor at Miramar, editor of an aviation journal, and is a Mach II Club member. Now, there is someone who deserves an aviation award.

It not all about a pilot license. Do your research, take a look at requirements, humanitarian work, military services, Morgan Frerman, Harris Ford,the physical and mental training,, the complexity of Apache helicopter, the technology skills etc😢

At the rate Charlie is going, Willy will not have a Kingdom to inherit. The worst threat to Willy's inheritance right now is his uncle (Randy Andy) and his brother (Harry the drug addled dim-wit). You can add the King to the list for not doing anything with the Royal wastrels. I am not a monarchist but I have nothing against Prince William, his wife and their children. They are not the problem; the problem are the family members who are TOO CLOSE to the throne. Somehow I prefer the old tradition of the Ottomans: When a new monarch ascends the throne, they strangle the spares.

@@Tiglath-PileserXIX Yet it isn't the King - or Queen - who are turning the monarchy into nothing more than a British Kardoshians show, that is William and Catherine with their insistence on being nothing more than celebrities - hugging strangers, having selfies taken with strangers, etc etc - rather than remembering that instead of being just another ''celebrity'' they are actually PROFESSIONAL WORKING PEOPLE REPRESENTING THE MONARCH (head of state) rather than just some nobody more interested in their own importance.

The number of royal engagements doesn’t show the whole picture. There are other considerations, such as travel time to/from, nature of engagement, total number of hours in preparation for and time at the engagement, behind the scenes meetings and preparation, etc. Additionally, let’s give some credit to the role of being a parent to the future King. I think it’s silly to keep count. Bean counting is not as important and giving beans that people can eat. In other words, the accompaniments of the working royals and their impact are worth more the the number of engagements each one does.

Concur with your comments . What may not be factored is the research and prep work required in order to make a valuable contribution to the ‘appearance’ . Whilst not diminishing the great work by others , often the input of the younger royals requires more involvement prior to event in terms of speech and participation activities

Children are most important at this point in time for William and Catherine. This isn’t the days of the Queen when she had Charles and Ann. Different times and the Wales children are a credit to their parents. Raising 3 great children to be responsible adults is more important. The Wales’ are balancing things very well IMO.

Wrong. The previous winners make the nominations, so just know that Buzz Aldrin and Sully Sullenberger are the ones who nominated Prince Harry and that ought to be enough to shut you up with your fake complaints. As a Apache pilot, combat veteran and founder of Invictus, Harry is an inspiration to those all over the world. No lie you tell about him or jealous wailing you make will change the fact that he is loved and appreciated all over the globe. Get used to him getting awards, people like him and recognize all his good works. This award can't be bought, it isn't controlled by one person. Nominations were made last July. And yes, Harry is a full Apache helicopter pilot, he got his license in 2012, and he's so good, he can perform stunts. The Apache can be flown from either the front or back seats, and a co-pilot is a full pilot. They have to be able to fly if the lead pilot is wounded or killed while flying. So shut up with your fake complaints and accept that Harry's more popular than William and he always will be. He's Diana's son, William is Charles's son. Shame.

The work that P&PoW undertake is more involved and time consuming than just visiting charities and opening exhibitions, so of course this would be reflected in the number of engagements undertaken. Other RF members carry that load, thus allowing the P&PoW to get more involved behind the scenes with some of the more challenging commitments and projects.

My husband's cousin flew so many missions in his 30 years as a US pilot, we were constantly frightened for him. He would be a good candidate for this award. There are thousands of US veterans who would be better candidates. If they wanted a Royal award winner, Prince Andrew comes to mind.

I’d hate to see the royals have to punch a time clock just to satisfy the public (or their own competition)but the hours behind the scenes that go into the big projects of the Prince and Princess of Wales should be considered and counted. So much more work than a tour of a farm or factory and hours of invisible work being done.

But so does the King, Queen Camilla does a huge amount for charities in the UK and overseas, Princess Anne does a huge amount in public AND behind the scenes and while also running a working farm. Prince Edward runs the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme as well as touring around the world supporting those who take part and Sophie does a huge amount for her charities both in public and behind the scenes. William and Catherine aren't the only ones working on their charities, they ALL work on their charities. Some just manage to fit in more public engagements as well as their work behind the scenes.

This award was bought. It's due to be presented by JOHN TRAVOLTA. Princess Catherine´s passion project is creating strong foundations for children from early childhood. It seems obvious to me that it is important to her to not just talk the talk. Hence, less public work and more time with the children. She is no hypocrite.

I wish we in the U.S. had such good celebrities to look up to instead of rich airheads who only care for their money and are grossly shallow. Thanks to the escapades of Harry & Megan, many of us on this side of the pond became more interested in the royal family. The comparison between the deserters and the family that remains to hold down the fort is quite stark. It's akin to good vs evil, with the family on the former end of course! We miss HYH the Queen but welcome Queen Camille.
