Interesting character. 😼 you're definitely right about loading up on the DEX. (Both for A.C. and ranged weapons.) BUT... I'm thinking I'd have gone with a catfolk/hunter (archer build) It would have given you the chance to illustrate race specific equipment. (Claw blades & southpaw boots.) It would also allow you to show choosing of spells (hunters start with access to druidic spells) And you begin with an animal companion. (As a catfolk I'd likely go with a Large cat. Tiger or lion?) Go with Alertness or skill focus perception... as you can then super load your perception. (It's the one check your DM is always asking for.)

true, but this was more of an introductory basic character. i've been meaning to do a bit of a rework on some of these older CS guides, but my current contract has me on a creativity freeze so i don't accidentally give a corporation my personal projects. though recently my go to for pf has been to go goblin gunslinger. You benefit from the +4 dex for range and ac, and you can floor drop strength because you only need enough to carry your guns and ammo. I also take the goblin gunslinger feat at lvl 1 so I can wield a medium sized weapon. The high ac and ability to add dex to dmg (sometimes at level 1) is a really nice feature, not to mention the fact that nearly all attacks hit touch as opposed to full ac. That and it's always fun to just be the little goblin with a gun in a party of magic casters and heavily armored warriors.

Meg Evans I'm not sure the origin of this specific version but if you Google. Pathfinder fillable character sheets you should find a decent number of them.

You could check out PCgen.org , they have a program you can install to access everything you need for character creation across multiple systems (D&D 3e, D&D 5e, Pathfinder etc) including editable character sheets. You can choose which systems you need or don't upon installation. The program is from 2005, so it's a little old, but it's pretty useful.

Sorry, I am new to pathfinder, and had no idea how or why you choose the numbers you did for your stats… just got confused
@NoESanity
@NoESanity Жыл бұрын
No need to apologize we were all new at some point. I'm assuming you mean my attributes, so strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma. For this video I rolled for them, I used a 2d6+6 method of rolling. When makeing your own character you'll want to ask the dm how they want to get attributes, some dms like to roll, some like point buy, some like arrays and there are hundreds of variations and combinations of all of those. When I dm I generally prefer rolling for stats but I always have a safty array in case someone just gets bad dice. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Hi, I am starting as a DM and I wanted to know where do you get the reference (Book/page) for the skills a race and class should have, are there tables that you recommend somewhere?
@NoESanity
@NoESanity 5 жыл бұрын
Sorry for taking so long, hope this still helps. So both of these examples are coming from the pathfinder core rulebook but once you know what to look for you'll be able to find it in any book for basically any game. PFCRB pg. 21 Dwarf racial. at the bottom of the page there is a list of "dwarf racial traits" All dwarves get all of those traits. There are a few subraces that will swap those around but they will have their own "iron dwarf racial trait" section that includes everything they get. now, as you look through the rest of chapter 2 (races) you'll find every race has a list of traits, which is how you know what your race gets. PFCRB pg. 32 Barbiarin tabel. At the top of this page you'll see a huge table that lists all the abilities you get, at what level you get them as well as the BAB (base attack bonus). if it was a spell casting class it would also have the spell slots per day table. what each ability does is listed further in the class description, but the list of what you get and when you get it is in that table. Now just like before as you go through the rest of chapter 3(class) you'll find every class has a list table that lists abilities. The reason i picked the examples i did was simply because they were the first ones in each chapter. so I hope this helps.

5'6 and 86 pounds??? Is this character okay??
@NoESanity
@NoESanity 3 жыл бұрын
Are you body shaming a member of a different species?
@Lazersyrup
@Lazersyrup 2 жыл бұрын
I agree with this comment so hard. 5'6'' and 86lbs is literally skeletal, unless their bones had less density and the weight was more distributed to fat and muscle. 86lbs would be more applicable to someone less than 5', but even then muscle weighs more than fat, so a character with more muscle would weigh more. With a str of 10 being common place, and 13 being more svelte, you would assume the character has a decent amount of muscle to accommodate that str score. That being said, I looked up PF1e half-elf weights, and the base weight for a male half-elf at 5'2'' is 100lbs. The weight goes up to match the height accordingly. At 5'4'' the weight should be around 110lbs, and we can assume by this trend every 2'' is another 10lbs, so a 5'6'' half-elf male would be 120lbs or thereabouts. With this knowledge in mind for height-weight ratios of this particular race, this example character is at a 30lb~ deficit in comparison to other healthy individuals of the race. It's not to say that a person at 5'6'' and 86lbs is impossible, I've known actual people with those measurements, but they weren't strong or particularly athletic. In the end, I understand this is fantasy, but weight/height ratios often get skewed because people believe that weight = fat, but if this is an athletic fantasy character the weight could easily be more attributed to muscle.

Bro you forgot 3 techically 4 of the most important items for an adventurer. You don't have a light, a rope, a knife, or a way to start a fire this character is doomed to die of dysentery in the dark at the bottom of a pit....
@NoESanity
@NoESanity 2 жыл бұрын
Use an arrow head as a knife. With a trained survival skill of +7 at lvl 1 you shouldn't have any trouble starting a fire with a couple of sticks or finding sticka to make torches. Probably could use a rope, but hey, maybe he used it already.

The probablility of rolling that character is like 1 in 10000 or something (94% of all 3d6 rolls are between 5 and 16). It's possible but exceedingly unlikely. Even if I rolled it fairly I would scrap it and start again because I feel like even appearing to be cheating on stats is disrespectful to my GM. I make a character, it takes like an hour at most. The GM can spend weeks or months reading rules, forging worlds and characters and backstory everything that can be destroyed in less than 5 minutes by deciding to go off course or taking a clue the wrong way, everything a GM does is for my benefit, my enjoyment. So for the free entertainment I owe it to my GM to be honest. Its the very least I can do (and bring donuts or pizza). Great content. Really helped me.

That is understandable. but also the reason why most people don't actually use 3d6. even just moving up to 4d6dl1 changes the numbers. for example, for your example spread 5-16 the chances on a 3d6 is actually 96.3% and for 4d6dl1 is 93.82% but the chances of rolling an 18 on 3d6 is 0.46% where in 4d6dl1 it's 1.62% personally I use 2d6+6 for these videos, with a minimum of 8 and a true average of 13 you get a more heroic looking array. so for example, the stats in this video all being 13 or higher is all within a 58.34% majority likelihood . 13-18.
