Just watching the second match where you thought you punted the foretell. You don’t need green mana to exile packmate, just to cast it from exile. Also I’m on your side about playing time haha

Yeah colour requirements on foretelling cards would kinda defeat purpose of foretelling.

I 100% agree with your assessment of the chess clock in MTGO. Factors like disconnects or hardware failure makes things a little sticky. I also dont like that neither the chess clock or rope system are in the rules of magic. Clock was the first big difference between paper and digital magic. Now that devide is deeeeeeeep.
@SnapBolt
@SnapBolt 2 жыл бұрын
Yea, bad internet/connection messes things up a bit but there’s not much you can do there. Similar to where some people can afford to play money pile in modern where others cannot and play budget decks. Magic is an extremely expensive hobby

Totally agree on the clock commentary by the way. I honestly think it's more fair then paper. Like why am I being punished with a draw because they decided to play a turbo fog deck with no clear win com or something. Chess clock is reasonable, though it would probably be difficult to implement for your fnm
@SnapBolt
@SnapBolt 2 жыл бұрын
I think the online ‘chess’ clock is way more fair too. Unfortunately there is way too many passes of priorities to make it viable in person

If you durdle around against controlish decks like fae you're playing into their game plan. The way to go against counters is to jam, not to wait until they draw them. You have to play out your stuff and make them have it.

Love the deck. How do you feel about mirrorshell crab in place of the dragons? It’s not usually a dead card in hand and a 5/7 with ward is decent. Only downside I see is you cant cascade into it
@SnapBolt

@SnapBolt
@SnapBolt 2 жыл бұрын
So basically Jund but blue for cantrips/mully D instead of black removal. Has potential, I just felt like it was always stuck in a midrange gameplan and other decks would go under or go over the top. Maybe there's a good build out there though.

I tried naya cascade last night without the 3 cmc (gimmick) and it just feels like bad ponza cascade. I went 2/3 in a league, but 1 of them was my own punt costing me a match. I didnt use gates but it really didnt feel good. If there was a slightly better 3cmc boardwipe to cascade into that was good in most matchups i think it would work well, ut doing nothing until turn 3 feels way too bad to catch up from reliably. Will definately be revisiting it if there is a better 3 mana hate piece printed

Playing to the clock is super reasonable in a single game. But playing game one out for the express purpose of your opponent having 1 - 2 less minutes on the clock for game two is stalling, plain and simple.

It is a very fun build, conceptually speaking. The problem is that it's SO slow. Too many colours, almost only taplands and no mana ramp engines. It takes you double the time to do anything, compared to any other deck (four times, if it is something that ramps like the last one) not to mention the damage deriving from land destruction. It's sad to say but this deck doesn't work.

@tahsisclaus
@tahsisclaus 2 жыл бұрын
Chess players concede all the time. One game of chess doesn't use the same clock as the next game so there is no incentive to play a lost game one out just so the opponent has less time the next game. Also pretty rude to criticize someone for playing fast when your only hope of winning is to time them out. I'd say ghosting is just as reasonable as timing people out. Might have to try it.
