Our absolute favourite hiking area. We can't get enough of this whole area. You have captured it beautifully 😍 Shutlingsloe is on our soon to do list. We have been camping recently in Snowdonia and the freak storms were horrendous but so beautiful when hitting the tent. Music to my ears.

I remember back in the 1970's that there was a group of wallabies that lived around The Roaches. I believe that they all died out during a bad winter. If anyone has any info at all I'd be happy to hear about it? Cheers!

Never heard of the place before to be honest but it looked a real canny spot. I enjoy a wild swim but think I will give that one a miss I think lol. I was waiting for the rain when you said the date, been bloody miserable Up North this week and forecasting thunderstorms for the next 18 hours in Co Durham. Good to see you only got the shower and were able to get out again, especially to catch that sun going down. Ended up being lucky with the weather mind, shame you missed a sunrise mind, cheers Alan

Interesting watch Andy, not an area I'm familiar with, my brothers done a fair bit over that way and he's recommended. It looks an attractive spot, its a bit of a drive for me, he's a lucky bleeder based down the north of the Peak District so got an hour on me, kind've stuck to the closer places but should make the effort to mix it up a bit. Great captures and editing as always, cheers, David

I think the tent you have is an Alpkit soloist. In hindsight I should have bought one. They look excellent. I bought the Terra Nova laser. Still trying to figure out why they get such great reviews. The zip snags all the time, the ridge cover is such a faff and for the price you don't get a repair kit. Just a couple of patches, no glue, no pole splints. Poor

That Church place Andrew is one of them places that mesmerize you on account of how green it is. It has to be good at retaining its moisture. I enjoy the geology as you do but it's that green that blows me away. I notice a bit of a test for the soloist. Mind you they're built for rain. Perhaps you need gale force winds. What you got was an amazing sunset. Maan that was lovely. Question. What were them strides you were wearing. They looked a loose fit - boot fit. Any way, good going. Mark
@AndrewBeavers
@AndrewBeavers 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark ayy it's a truly wonderful place a real piece of geological wonder.it's really cool in there & there's mosses & allsorts of greenery on the walls that are wet through which is what i would imagine contributes to the cool environment.The soloist dealt with the rain easily & a brisk wind during the night no problem. That sunset was yet another stunner Mark such a wonderful marvel to witness.The pants are Montane terra pants,a lightweight summer pant really comfortable.tfw mate..Andy.
