Day 13 on the Pennine Way was a long 23 mile walk from Greenhead to Bellingham, taking in the magnificent Hadrian’s Wall

I did Greenhead to Bellingham too and as suprb as 'The Wall' is, beyond, to Bellingham, I found a weary trudge if I'm honest. I trust today has gone okay?....so will wish you well for the final day over the Cheviots.....which is another fantastic walk. 👍

You're almost there now. You have done so well. When you return home, you will need a holiday just to recover. The hadrians wall stretch is notorious for being a tale of two halfs. I tend to prefer a good second half though, as you're flagging then and it picks you up. Best of luck for the rest of the trek and thank you for inspiring other's to do more 😁

Thanks Kelly. I agree, it would have been a much better end to walk the Hadrian’s wall trail last. It was a very long day that’s for sure

Hi Ant, your on the home run now, a long day of you today, you put in a really good effort, so well done. One of you camera shots of Hadrian’s Wall was exactly the same as I use as my screen saver on my phone . Although it’s busy, it’s one of the nicer parts of the wall. I bet that bath was very welcome. It’s been a great series of videos so far, and fingers crossed for you achieving 1,000 subscribers.

Instead of messing around with taxis between Bellingham and Byrness you can always continue on from Byrness to the Lamb Hill shelter about six miles further along the Way. Stay there overnight and thence to Kirk Yetholm the next day. Also means you don't have to do the 25 miles in one slog and you can include the Cheviot. Just a thought.

@AnthonyJohnson1 2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, my accommodation is all booked and paid for so other than an emergency shelter, I haven’t got any camping gear with me. Lamb Hill sounds like it certainly be a good option though had I planned in advance. Not looking forward to a 26 mile last day

Love Adrian's Wall, one of my favourite part of North England. Never seen Sycamore Gap though. Bet the bath was amazing. 😁
@AnthonyJohnson1

That section of the wall was fantastic. I’ve never watched the Robin Hood film so I’ve never understand the fascination behind Sycamore Gap 😆. I’d been wading through bog all afternoon on that day so the bath was a welcome relief. I think I might go and walk the Hadrian’s Wall trail at some point so I can spend a bit more time immersing myself in the history etc

Hi! Congratulations on reaching 900 subs, big benchmark. When you were walking along Hadrian’s Wall, it brought back good memories of my thru-hike. It’s definitely worth revisiting the middle section of this trail. Glad to hear your accommodation was much better than previous days. Great video. Nearly there now 😀

Great shift yesterday bud. I ended my day knee deep in that same bog with wet boots and socks. Camped in some forest and spent the evening drying my boots off by a fire! All the best for your last 2 days. P.S. What football team do you support? 😋

Definitely a tough day yesterday wasn’t it. Loved Hadrian’s Wall though. Thought it was spectacular in places. A camp in the Forest must have been fab. Very secluded around there. For my sins, I’m a Nottingham Forest supporter, so it’s been great not having to watch the games while I’m out walking here! Have another great day today Toby 👍

I'm wondering if the whole of the Hadrian's Wall Trail is all quite busy, or you were just crossing through a 'busy section' ? My be a fun trail to explore.
@AnthonyJohnson1
@AnthonyJohnson1 2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s a popular trail. The section I walked is where most of the wall is so it must attract a lot of day visitors too. I might walk the Hadrian’s Wall trail next year as I did enjoy the 10 miles of it that I walked
