Day 6 takes me from Kirkby Malham to Horton in Ribblesdale. I pass places like Malham Cove and Pen-y-Ghent along the way

Woohoo… day 6 done! Your trail legs must have kicked in by now. Shame about the views not being visible however you did get a glimpse of some lovely class cars & the huge 🐇 sculpture. Keep it going AJ!

Hi Anthony another great day on the PW, here in lincolnshire we got your rain lol pleased to take your share, been to these areas several times so your bringing back memories for me, keep it going m8

nice one....i reckon the view of Penyghent from Fountains fell is one of the best views of the whole way...[ on a clear day ]

Its easy to see things are going well and your ate so much more relaxed than when you set off, all those fears have lifted. Your sense of humour is coming to the fore and this was a great video and funny too. I think one reason I mostly backpacked was that at that time its all I could afford and your right compared to a wild camper you look refreshed and relaxed. All the best Anthony. 👍🍻

Thanks Dave. I’m thoroughly enjoying the experience and sharing it with everyone on here. Thanks very much for watching and your support too 👍

Hi Anthony! That was definitely a good excuse to head back to Pen y Ghent on a nice clear day! 😁 Fantastic place though, with or without the views👍

I enjoyed the climb on to there. Nice little scramble at the end. Bit of a shame about the rain coming in when I made it there but I was very lucky with the weather this day as rain had been forecast all day and I only saw it for about an hour

Another great video Anthony,. Malham cove and Tarn are lovely places with great view, it brought back happy memories. Apologies for all the late comments, I’m miles being the series as I’ve not been in place to watch them, so having binge watch them. I totally get what you mean regarding the thoughts when standing on the edge of something, it’s good to know I’m not the only one. I have tried the grenade bars, they are hard going, I’m impressed that you are sticking with them.
@AnthonyJohnson12 жыл бұрын
Those Grenade bars are hard work Tony. I’ve started to develop a gag reflux from them 😆. Thanks for watching the series. No worries if you’re behind on them. Watching me on a daily basis must be as tough as actually doing the walk 🤣

Go Anthony go, the weather gods are still with you ☺. You're bringing back good memories of PW N2S 1985! Hawes was our rest day, nice place and good chip shop. atb Simon

If I ever did it again, ideally I'd like a mix of camping and plush accommodation. I like my comforts too much nowadays for a whole journey of camping. For me, you are getting ever closer to the best section and am looking forward to that bit very much. Cheers, Chris

Looking forward to tomorrow too. Hopefully another good weather day. Feet are aching today though. 2 days of walking on rocks and limestone!

Grenade bars are getting 4.7 out of 5 on Amazon. That can’t be that bad😂. Some great views on today’s video even though the weather was not great.

It was a washout in south derbyshire. Got soaked that day. Only way i would camp these days is by cycling.

Great to see a day by day diary of the walk. I did it when I was 19 which was 31 years ago now . I always thought I’d do more big trails but then life gets in the way. Now that I’m in my 50s and the kids have left home it suddenly becomes possible again. I moved to Northern Ireland 25 years ago so most of my walking videos are from over here but love seeing stuff from near where I grew up in Glossop. Good luck with the rest of the walk.

Thanks for the feedback on the b+b option. All the long distance paths I’ve done have been basha camps, but some have involved the odd b+b stop when it’s at a convenient moment :) I just begrudge every step off the route… so I can see the advantage of packing lighter…
@AmblingMan2 жыл бұрын
you're smashing it :) I had to have a look at the Grenade web site to see what I was missing out on, I think you might have blown the chance to become their brand ambassador :D Your talk of nasty cough syrup did bring back memories of my Gran dosing me with somthing that might have been better served protecting a fence. How is your confidence now you're on route? I know you had some jitters beforehand.
@AnthonyJohnson12 жыл бұрын
If being brand ambassador meant I had to eat more of them, then no thanks 😆

You are doing well. Have you tried Arcteryx boots - i have had a pair for a couple of years they are very lightweight ie like trainers they are brill. Any way keep enjoying. Howard

You got some great views of Malham Cove I wasn't so lucky when I walked it, it was pea soup but have been there a couple of times since, even did a wild camp there a few years ago, how's the feet?
@AnthonyJohnson12 жыл бұрын
Cheers Andy. The feet are a bit tired tonight after 2 days of walking on rocks and limestone. No blisters though which is good news

Touch wood, it’s not flared up yet. I’m stretching the feet a lot prior, during and after each walk which seems to be helping

When you hadn't uploaded this morning, i became worried. Silly me, no Wifi. I watched Dean Read complete it last year, as i recall, he was lucky with the weather. Lovely to see that you are still treking on but hows your feet doing? Keep it up, you're doing a grand job.

Thanks Kelly. The feet are a bit tired today. Lots of rocky limestone paths. Hopefully they’ll be good to go again in the morning

Any kind of bar that's super protein heavy tastes a bit gross if you're eating them for days in a row. There's only so much you can do to make what is essentially a bar of protein powder taste nice haha.

Thanks for watching Dave. I really enjoyed the Dales section of the PW. This was one of the few wet days I had, so the views weren’t there at the top. Really enjoyed the scramble up though. Getting back to explore more of the Yorkshire Dales is on my list of things to do next year 👍
