Location : Dudhsagar

Thank you.. The first 3 engines here are breakers.. They help the train in braking as trains roll down the ghats. The last 2 engines will carry the train forward once the breakers are detatched from the rake. It happens at kulem in this section.. :)

Imagine how steep the gradient is that it needs 3 EMD locos to prevent the rake rolling down uncontrollably.

Amazing capture. It is not only aircraft that can disappear off into the clouds. Apparently the EMD led megaton-heavy freight trains can do so too!

वाह नटराजन क्या वीडियो बनाया है अति सुंदर। परन्तु मेरा एक सवाल है। मालगाड़ी में कुल पांच इंजन लगे हैं तीन EMD हैं और दो ALCO हैं। मेरा सवाल यह है कि तीनों EMD तो एक साथ काम कर सकते हैं परंतु जो दो ALCO लगे हुए हैं क्या वो काम कर रहे हैं या बंद हैं। अगर काम कर रहे हैं तो कैसे।

Nowadays we are hearing the track sounds only near points and crossings... There only fish plates are being still used I think. In remaining places mostly welded joints. Hence the journey becomes smooth. Even then missing that fish plates sound is a sad thing for railfans...

Sometimes if the railway needs to move engines from one spot to another they will add them to an existing train that happens to be going that way. Otherwise they would have to run them "light" - pay another crew, take up another train path, etc.

I think this is a single line link so when bankers are used to push the train up, it's better to bring them down attached to a downward train instead of bringing them solo. This way no need for extra token ( used on solo lines) for the locomotives and also the downward train can use the extra pulling and braking power of the 3 additional locomotives.

@@devaraju8424 The Front 3 Locomotives are connected by cables. Pilot is present in only Front First Loco. All the three Locomotives work in parallel. And the Last Two Green ALCO Locomotives are Dead.

Yeh model kab badelege yarr..? Aisa lagta hai ki 70 saal peeche hai .. Mumbai local trains dekhenge toh chadne ka maan bhe bhai karega.. aur bogies ka quality toh jaha dekho waha plywood ki patches aur paint job toh aisa reheta hai ki door se kisine bogies ki oopar chidak diya ho.. Cleanliness ki koi fikar nahi..

He's on a shunt line, moreover, left moving traffic is likely, therefore any traffic would be oncoming.
