A part of this chat that touched me is when Melody spoke about how your kasi/hood expects you to give back when you've made it... although they never invested in your success. That stuff really triggers me. Even with family. They feel entitled to your success when they never contributed to it... but just because they are related to you. Whenever ppl ask me for financial help, I advise them to go ask for money from their church and shops they buy from. They never gave me money... why do they expect me to share my money with them?!

I couldn't help but imagine: Pen, Mandisa Mashego, Dr Pali Lehohla, Melody Miya, Rutendo, Vusi, ,Zimasa Vabaza, Robert Marawa , Hügo Krüger creating a "Template of Course" for willing South Africans. This could be a repository of Strategies, and ideas whose purpose is to implement and act(NB Not plan but act upon).

I currently live in the UK but originally from Katlehong and this has awakened the deep desire I've always had to go back and build ikasi lami. This was so inspiring, truly reminded me of the bigger picture and how we're going nowhere if we exist in an immoral society and a society that has no self leadership. Thank you Pen and Melody!

Hi @Penuel.....it's amazing how you get the smartest minds from every walk of life....in my opinion you are one of the most gifted podcasters on KZfaq. But please also encourage your guests to use English as much as possible not in a way to belittle local languages but so all of us can understand especially that you are international now. Melody is a smart mind that I loved listen to but it was unfortunate that due to the language barrier, I couldn't understand half of what he was saying

Also, most of us we complaining about corruption because we are not benefitting from it. Check how this tender guys worship the ANC!!

Yes the township is a toxic space kodwa umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu So i personally believe when you have the means, try whatever is in your capability to uplift those around your area so that they too can have better chances of succeeding and having access to better opportunities and in turn, nabo they'll also help the next person. That way you create a cycle of always helping the next person. And this doesnt mean leaving the township, cha we should try and develop it. Cause If you just leave forever, eKasi will always stay toxic And at the end of the day, Apartheid was izolo lo, amaTownship were designed for a specific purpose

This conversation needs a part two sooner... so much was left unsaid - delving into the conversation of the generational mix where children dont know their place and fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters not only socialise with children but bed them. That conversation alone is a whole episode 1 of part 1 in moral decay.

First thing we need to do as a black community is to teach our boys that woman are to be respected and loved right and to teach woman to value themselves and stop sleeping with this man who you are not married to close your legs and understand that you have a treasure that man have to work hard for before they can get some get married first then have children make sure you get educated and are stable before you bring kids in this world if not then dont have kids go to therapy or church get your past fixed and heal mtase the world will be a better place when we start to understand that no one owes us anything not even the government. Have self control when you see an attractive lady or man aks God to give you the power to deny your flesh.
