The plaintiff says he’s an attorney, and claims the defendant hired him to keep him out of jail after a probation violation, but he never paid up. He’s suing for outstanding fees. The defendant says he fired the plaintiff for stringing him along and never signed a retainer agreement. He’s countersuing for fraud, misrepresentation, and lost wages.+

I actually believe the defendant. The lawyer seems like an ambulance chaser who forced himself unto the defendant's case.

At 4:27 he made a Freudian slip when he said 'I discussed my fee with me', exactly he didn't discuss it with the plaintiff though, he discussed it with himself! The plaintiff forced himself on the defendant and the defendant NEVER signed anything, so in reality the plaintiff had no case, but the judge found in the plaintiff's favour because he is a lawyer and they protect each other...

Don’t commit the crime if you don’t want to pay for a lawyer and don’t want PD. Defendant already on probation= loser. The defendant is the fool.

This is a case of two crooked people. I'm almost positive that the plaintiff weaseled his way onto this guy's case. He was eavesdropping in the court house - probably looking for someone in a tough spot to hire him - and approached the guy. Then he carsalesman-ed himself to the already angry guy and the defendant probably just said something like "yeah yeah fine" or whatever which is non-commital but the lawyer felt he could call it a verbal agreement so he showed up at the next case. The defendant then was probably like, oh sweet, I got me lawyer but since he knew he never intended to say yes, even though he knew the game, he figured he could just play dumb and see where the chips fall. They both need to backhanded for their sleaziness

That lawyer is a con artist and is very shady. Although the defendant actions were a little questionable , that lawyer had no signed contract and clearly admitted to shady practices.
