Jody..... The 104 is No1 on my list , there is nothing that I don't love about it. Truly on a par with high end Swiss brands in my opinion

Nice review. The Sinn 104 is a fantastic watch. I personally own the 104 St Sa A. With a water resistance to 200m, count down bezel (only bezel I’ve ever had any use for), it’s rugged good looks, no one can go wrong owning this timepiece, especially if they want it as their only watch.

I was told that Sinn is making a brushed or matte case/bracelet version of this 104 white dial this Fall.

Yep I love my 104 expensive on straps though as it’s a strap monster but a great everyday watch and none of the brand snobbery that can follow some brands

Now I know my one watch choice is my 39mm Rolex Explorer. At first I missed the day/date complication but now just love everything about it. I say this because I have owned so many watches of varying values over the years that completing my watch voyage with the 39mm Explorer was inevitable I suspect. I have gone smaller over the years and yes, just love the simplicity of a gorgeously understated but iconic three-hander beautifully put together piece. I wear it in the shower, bed, work sport, running....yes, and even scuba diving, no issues whatsoever, just never take it off +2 seconds a day. When I think of the cumulative cost of the watch odyssey I have been on since the age of 9, now 57, I just love watches, all of them, I have had them all but I really feel comfortable with this Explorer and fully imagine it all scratched up over the years to hopefully come and becoming synonymous with my journey. Oh yes, I also owned the 104, fantastic build quality....too chunky for me though. Keep these great reviews coming, you are my joint-favourite watch reviewer alongside James Stacy. I do miss his regular contribution on youtube. you both share the same wonderfully even-handed gentle review style I love. PS I wear just one watch but I still own about 7 others. So, slightly disingenuous :)

One of my grail watches and I'm a big fan of Sinn's design & engineering in general.

Picked up the 104 Limited Edition Green Dial,And i must admit you’re absolutely right it is a fantastic watch very pleased with it.

Sinn for me, like Oris, totally underrated. The 104 is a definitive for a one watch collection in my opinion, makes many much more expensive usual suspects look very, ‘last year’ and you don’t see many about which is a pleasant change.....update Tissot Seastar 1000 for half the price???

Thanks for showing this outdoors. This is one small but useful area that make your videos stand apart. Plus, I was torn between the black and the white variant. I think the white variant, while very striking, is less legible at a glance in strong sunlight. So if I get one, you've now helped me make the choice.

Looks great on a Staib Milanese bracelet as well! I personally own one in black and it’s a great every day watch that performs well under almost all circumstances of daily live.

AFAIK, the screws on the bezel are there to secure the bezel to the case (it's a captive bezel). They're not there to adjust the bezel's tension/action.

Great one for the GASP one watch option. I think the Sinn 556 also has great versatility.

I strongly believe in a one watch collection mate as long as it is one watch per day for 365 days....!!!!

Awesome! I own the Sinn 104 A St Sa, it is almost the perfect one watch collection. With a bezel watch you are limited to wearing up to sport coats, no suits or Tuxedos, but EVERYTHING else is perfect for the Sinn 104, you need only swap out the straps for various activities.

I love sinn, eversince I got the 556i. Then Last week I was able to get my hands on green dial 104. I thought the polished case would threw me off (it did the first time), but then I use different straps for different occasions and this is truly a great one watch collection. In formal meetings i slap on a leather strap, rubber when outdoors, and the bracelet for pretty much everything else. It is elegent, robust, functional, and slim

An underrated gem is what this watch is, beautiful and practical.lovely video as always.

Great review I have the black version myself. Excellent time keeper I’m getting +1 second per day. Agree on too many polished surfaces although I like a bit of bling. One problem is that when changing straps especially bracelets it’s very very easy to damage the lug edges and it is noticeable. Be very carefull to remove from the back otherwise you risk marking the lug front edges.

Maybe a Sinn 556 could be a watch to cover all the bases. For many of us, a diver is just not an option for work or more formal events.

Great take on a beauty, always admired Sinn and the serious quality of the lineup. I could live with a 240st gz if I only had one timepiece. The thing is an absolute gem. The 104 is beautiful as especially for the price.

Nice review. I was an avid collector for over a decade. Then I bought my SInn 785UTC. I bought no new watches for 5+ years after putting that on my wrist. It's seriously better than the Rolex and Omega's that I owned (and promptly sold). It still gets the most wrist time of all the watches I own. Sinn has such amazing tech built into their watches (Tegimented steel is nearly scratch proof in normal circumstances) and eliminates your aversion (that I share) to polished surfaces on a bracelet. Just amazing!

Great review! While the white dial is nice looking, I really prefer my black dial 104 on the brown leather Sinn strap. I've had mine for a few days now and it's definitely my most tastefully styled watch. I bought it brand new from Watch Buys and they got it to me after one day's wait. My 104 makes everything else in my collection seem gimmicky, it's just that classy. It gains 3 seconds per day brand new, but I'll see how it runs after a couple months of daily wear. I love my 104 and I just hope it gives me years of trouble free service. Now that I have it I don't want to take it off. Thanks for the vid!

The perfect one watch without regard to money is probably the Rolex Explorer, but for the money... gotta be the Sinn!

But they seem to be cutting corners with the clasp quality. I would opt for the silicone band withe the regular pin buckle.

Very nice watch indeed. Extremely practical. The bidirectional bezel is more useful for non-divers. Even though it's not a diver, it still looks enough like one to look odd on a leather strap. Personally I prefer field-type watches, so I'd go for the Sinn 556 for my one-watch collection.

My first watch and 'one watch collection' for years was a 1999 Seiko Kinetic with green dial and stainless case. Unfortunately for my wallet of today, the Alpinist reminds me quite a bit of that ole Seiko.

Had mine for 3 months now, overall I'm happy with it, but the one thing that kind of annoys me, are the rattling end links. For the price of 1800€ (H-Link with the new clasp +350€) you'd expect the bracelet to perfectly fit, but there's quite the gap between the end links and the lugs. Also, quite questionable QC from Sinn, the first one arrived with a stuck rotor and had to be returned.

Please do a review on the Sinn 556i/ 556a also. I feel they are the perfect value for money watch and very very versatile.

I wish Sinn would put a deployment clasp on their straps, plus, a ceramic bezel would be more in keeping for the $$$.

Another great review Jody. I wish the 104 wasn't so darn angular but I think in terms of design, the case is at least internally consistent throughout. I prefer a little more fluidity in my case design however. I would have thought the H-links on the bracelet would have had a more angular design aesthetic to carry through with the watch case design. I think it almost looks like a bracelet for a different watch. It's a little peculiar for my taste.

I think the Damasko DA43 is a top notch and less expensive substitute for this Sinn. It has the same look and quality and I love the look of a few more dollars in my wallet the most. Maybe you can get your hands on one to review soon. Awesome as always!

I've got the black dial version, love it!

Being a pilot, I’m lusting after one of those. Shame I’ve missed the limited edition green dial, but I’d get the black dial one with Arabic numerals. The only problem is the Sellita movement, for I don’t trust Sellita quality. Would be perfect with an ETA, like the limited edition one I’ve missed.

I’m not a fan of white finals but then of course this had to come along. Looks exceptionally good in the bracelet.

I really enjoy the Sinn 104, I have the black dial version and the same bracelet. Took it to my watchmaker and got it professionally brushed as the polished mid links drove me nuts. It is a fab watch, but unfortunately it doesn't get much wrist time lately as I have other watches which I have bonded more with. But you can't go wrong with a Sinn 104, for the price, it offers stellar specs and quality.

Really wish you'd do a review of the 105. It'd be a great follow up to this vid

great video, a solid workhorse the 104. i briefly had the 104 st sa a, with the numerals, on the fine bracelet, purchased from define in queensland. bracelet is beautifully made, very comfortable. case was quite thick, almost black bay tudor thick, hence why i no longer have it. this aint a luxe watch, however it is well made, despite it using an off the shelf movement, everything is rock solid, with sinn 'no mucking around' workhorse quality. i would suggest its at about tudor / oris level of quality, which is to be applauded given the 104's modest price tag. it certainly punches above its weight class. peter at define watches is a walking encyclopedia on watches, and a delight to do business with.

Awesome looking time piece. I've narrowed a decision down to the Oris 65 or the Sinn 104 w/out numerals.

Man he has definitely used the watch, almost looks like its been through a tumble-dryer. Not that I'm any better, my sarb is really scratched up. I enjoyed the review, absolutely a lovely watch.

Love Sinn brand, i own a Sinn U1- T- SDR, my least favorite part is the bracelet. I don’t t feel the bracelets justify the actual purpose and functionality of the design. But i am also looking to own. 103 chronometer at some point as i find them to be interesting time pieces.

Funny enough I was looking at the 104 last week. I wanted a new piece that was recognised by the community to take on a test drive of sorts. I ultimately went for a Speedy Reduced but seeing this video I'm thinking I may have bought the wrong piece. :(

The 104 is a lovely watch, though I've never seen one in the flesh. The white dial is the prettiest of them. It's all the echoes of black framing white which makes it stand above even the newer 'fancy' and limited colors. I only own one watch. the Sinn 556ib, which I'm lucky enough to love so much as to not really desire others. Not really. But were I to think about another, I'd have to consider precisely this lovely dial. Just my two cents for the consideration of anyone considering getting a 104... All those lovely framed white spaces on a watch which finds its balance in restraint and the use of negative space- which happens to be white on the white-dial version. .

So true... First Sinn Germany and then on to Tudor in Switzerland.... what can you do...

Luckily I am on the ladder of Chinese watches which don't go too high. I have a vintage Seagull St5 on the way and I wear a Shanghai 7120 every day which is dead accurate. The bank is not broken.

Enjoyed that review, really like your videos. No pretence and honest. I recently bought the Casio Royale off of your video.

So much to like about these watches, the arabic black version was a very serious contender for me BUT the countdown bezel is a deal breaker. Why? It confuses the brain when trying to read the time, as it is exactly backwards for the minutes. In the end, I got the Fortis Flieger Pro instead which is similar design in some ways, not a perfect watch but does not have this legibility issue. I'd love you to review that watch, it flies under the radar.

Swiss and bankruptcy is a fantastic answer. That is why there is a lot of banking in that SWISS place and SWISS cheese is what happens to your wallet when the money falls out
